    Daily Art Preview

I think that's the first time I've ever found the Shambling Mound scary.

    Excerpt: Weapons (MERGE)

Only if high crit can be found with all the other good weapon properties. Would you rather have high crit or reach? Or a +3 proficiency bonus rather than a +2?

    Excerpt: Weapons (MERGE)

I don't particularly care about the artist, I just know I prefer this picture to this one.

    Excerpt: Weapons (MERGE)

I thought it was a spiked chain. If that's the standard of the weapon illustrations in the PHB I'll be happy.

Keep on the Shadowfell Spotlight Interview

There's a Spotlight Interview up for Keep on the Shadowfell. It's not that long:

D&D 4E Are 4E Paladins and Clerics MAD?

I think everyone will want to have three good stats to cover the three defences; the problem classes will be those where two of the class's preferred stats cover the same defence. Like Wisdom and Charisma for Paladins and Clerics. :) The Multiclass preview from last week might be telling us...

    Excerpt: Racial Benefits

I think there are going to be more feats. As Mr Samedi pointed out at RPGNet:

    You think that's weak?

Elven Precision doesn't look like much:

    Excerpt: Multiclassing (merged)

I don't think that the multiclass system looks like a waste of a feat, but I can point to one: Toughness unless it's changed since last November, which is entirely possible. Also, Human Perserverance, which at the least gives +1 to saves.

    Appeal of the defender?

There's a quote in Races and Classes that goes something like "If you don't choose a defender, the monsters will choose one for you." With the high hit points/damage ratio of 4e I think it's going to be hard for a party of strikers and controllers to completely take out the monsters before...

D&D 4E New 4e Info! GAMA Tradeshow Scoop

The Stormwarden's two attack powers were both Str vs AC, which made me wonder if the two weapon ranger uses Str for the primary characteristic and the Bow ranger uses Dex. It could be some classes really need more than one primary attack stat: the DDXP paladin had both Wis and Cha at 16. Other...

    Will all spells be attacks?

Here's a link to one of the photos. Slow connection warning: this image is 2816 x 2112! There are smaller images but I can't read any of the text with them.

And the tatoos on Bald-yanki's head look strangely like a printed circuit board. I would like the similarity to be such that even gith can't tell just by looking. That way they could be sending spies into each other's organizations. Occasional defectors as well. Same race, two very hostile...

Australia: Cheapest place to pre-order 4th ed books

I've ordered the gift set from Amazon. I was the last one in our group who was still buying from our FLGS - there's only one left in Canberra, and I was going to be a loyal customer and support it. The difference between the Amazon price and local price for Races and Classes ended that for me...

    Multiclassing via Feats. Thoughts?

It is listed on the character sheet as a "Feat Power." It's an odd power, since it's a free action, but it clearly is a power learned via a feat.

    Multiclassing via Feats. Thoughts?

That's my speculation as well, that more feats you buy the deeper you progress into the multiclass table Has this been confirmed? We know that at least one feat - Power of Amaunator - gives a character an extra feat, so I thought it was possible that the multiclassing feats did as well.

    Multiclassing Speculation

In Races & Classes it says that the class training feats allow access to class abilities: It's entirely possible that the multiclassing rules have changed since R&C, but at least at one time you would have lost your bet.

    Thinking about the sub-classes

Two weapon fighting looks to be a Ranger shtick. A fighter might have to multiclass (however it works in 4e) to get it.

    Thinking about the sub-classes

    I'm not sure about that. These are the preview characters stats: Cleric: Str:14 Con:12 Dex:10 Int:12 Wis:18 Cha:12 Fighter: Str:16 Con:18 Dex:12 Int:10 Wis:14 Cha:8 Paladin: Str:14 Con:12 Dex:12 Int:9 Wis:16 Cha:16 Ranger: Str:14 Con:11 Dex:18 Int:12 Wis:14 Cha:10 Warlock: Str:10 Con:16 Dex:11...
