"?" about "The D&D Rules Cyclopedia"

The most fun I've had playing D&D in the last 5 years was a Rules Cyclopedia campaign.

    Dragon Fist physical copy

3rd Era is just a brand for our old 3.0 and 3.5 stuff. Dragon Fist and 3E were never a good match. That's why the plan had been to make its own stand-alone variant.

The only follow up material that ever came out was an article I wrote for Polyhedron that detailed a new society.

    Dragon Fist physical copy

When it seemed we might do some 4E support, Dragon Fist was a serious contender for one of the initial projects. The GSL killed that idea though.

    Any word on the GSL?

It's actually one of the coolest things about working at WotC. I wish all my employers had done that. It does not count as your regular vacation time. It's a nice thank you to the staff for working hard all year and a recognition that not a lot of work really gets done between Xmas in New Year's...

It is the start of a New Year and time for me to talk about what you can expect in 2009 from Green Ronin. I used to do one of these messages that covered everything, but with so many lines these days I've taken to doing several and spreading them out over a week. Today I'm going talk about our...

Why the D&D Miniature Line Failed...

I'm not saying that WotC didn't believe there would be a big CMG market for the game. I just don't think it ever actually happened. As for the CMG approach, there was a big reason for WotC to take it. Management at WotC never understood what it took to set up a traditional miniatures business...

Why the D&D Miniature Line Failed...

I don't think the CMG players were ever the primary market. I think the success the D&D minis had was due to the roleplayers. After a bunch of sets came out, the RPG players had big enough collections that they stopped buying a case of each new set on release. Hence WotC's announced format change.

    What's new with the GSL?

Green Ronin always has several irons in the fire. Before 4E was announced, we were doing M&M, True20, D&D 3.5, and Freeport support, and designing the WFRP line for Games Workshop and preparing the Song of Ice and Fire RPG as well. Our support for True20 did not mean that we weren't going to...
