Lord of the Rings - Return to Middle Earth

Yeah. It was nice. Michael Rosenbaum drove me up the wall with his constant use of 'Rohans' rather than 'Rohirrim'. Someone ought to string up the writer.

    (Mongoose) Licences and RPGs

Yeah. The other choice I'd like to see (though not as much as B5) is Dune which had the Lynch film and the recent mini-series...with another one due next year.

    Firefly cancelled!

Yeah. They've started to appear here in Australia :D . It does get me wondering how many seasons have actually been made.

    [Novels] Fantasy/Sci-Fi Book List

Yeah. Although I've only read his media related stuff...Trek and Babylon 5...all of which is excellent. Another author I've enjoyed via Babylon 5 is J. Gregory Keyes.

Low level games using Mutants and Mastermind rules

Speaking of The Path & Way of the Rat, how does M&M handle martial arts style combat, or any unarmed combat for that matter? I take it there's plenty of feats to simulate cool comic book Martial Arts action?

Haven: City of Violence is d20?

Perhaps because ENworld is a large gaming community, not all of whom are one-eyed d20 fans. Or perhaps it might be a product that's useful for the wider gaming community...thus advertising it here could get them for more customers.

Low level games using Mutants and Mastermind rules

I'm actually interested in this kind of thing. Whilst I havent got it yet, I've been thinking about using the Crossgen universe as a setting for a game. Ar at least parts of it, which are an interesting fantasy/sci-fi/supers mix. Although I'm not real sure where the setting would sit...

    Gamebooks

Yep. I remember having both Lone Wolf and Way of the Tiger books (even had that as a computer game) once upon a time. Don't have any of 'em now though. WRT Lone Wolf I cant even remember ANYTHING about the setting, thus my response to the announcement is a little lukewarm. Especially compared...

    Sub-races

Coming from long years in MERP and Rolemaster I have to say I REALLY like sub-races, both human or otherwise.

    Elements of Magic

Wow. This is really cool. Looks like I can add a few more Rolemaster-like elements to 3e.

what would make d20 art better?

Thats why there's multiple options...although in my case I went for 'more realism' over 'more accuracy'.

    (Mongoose) Licences and RPGs

It could be Masters of the Universe....although thats more fantasy than sci-fi.

Probably a pretty lame question but...

Of course this could be argued with almost every game based on another story (be it prose or film). Even LOTR, which is focused on the Ring Quest. Personally I never had a problem with it or Star Wars, being quite happy to play heroes who get small scale victories...having played in a MERP game...

Bill Slavicsek on the D&D revision and the SRD

Well, any issues I had just evaporated then...I can just grab the SRD for updates and thus not feel forced into upgrading to 3.1.

    (Mongoose) Licences and RPGs

A major license thats in TV and film....well, it could be Marvel which is in TV & Film and loosely sci-fi :)

    3E art and age

I dont know about that generalisation. In any case I dont know if I would blame artists per se rather than the deliberate choices the art people at Wizards took. Of course one of my alltime fave artists is Angus McBride , although he's an artist who dabbled in roleplaying stuff rather than...
