    Big/Dire Frog?

Nice pic. Plate probably would be a bit much, but a light rider in leather... it has possibilities. Also, I'd say double damage from a spear thrust if attacking as shown in the pic ;)

    Remorhaz - Huh?

Watch out, though, if you do not have a flying spellcaster and are used to beating on things with physical attacks. I have run one of these, and it was a damn good fight, if fairly devastating for the fighter. The poor guy got plucked off his warhorse, though managed not to get swallowed. He...

    Big/Dire Frog?

Interesting idea as a mount, but it'd be one hell of a rough ride! And noisy! Imagine a warrior in full plate bounding along (*crash* *crash* *crash*). :D

Whoops - Problem with last 10 conversions!!!

Well, now you know who the gremlin is, BOZ. It's a shady one, it is.

+2 bonus to Swim and a +1 bonus to Ref saves?

    Dire Pelicans?

My vote would be piercing damage, for a woodpecker's beak. It may not have the fine point of a claw or tooth, but it does taper to a point, and with that much force behind it...yeah, piercing. Dire Hippo and Dire Skunk have already been done, in the Tome of Horrors dire conversion. I don't...

    Converting monsters from Dungeon Magazine

No need for protection from arrows, I don't think, if we're going DR 10/magic and adamantine. I think the Charming Gaze and Create Spawn abilities are a good idea for the Greater. Maximized (or regular) Ray of Enervation once every 1d4 rounds? Level drain is fun for everyone! Would be...

    D&D 3.x Creature Catalog 3.5 Overhaul Project

Sounds good to me. Should it have a cheese affinity, Shade? ;)

    D&D 3.x Creature Catalog 3.5 Overhaul Project

I think that's more powerful than what we're looking for here. Would a simple "+2 to Spot and Listen checks while in forested areas" suffice? Good point, and good question! I know several PCs who would want to know the answer to this, and it would be good to provide the DM with this...

Another Creature Catalog query for Dragon? (Pt 2)

I have a pile of 2nd Ed. compendiums at home, but nothing with me currently (I'm at work). I'd like to submit a few; hopefully I can do so tonight when I get home (or tomorrow night at the latest).

Another Creature Catalog query for Dragon?

I'd have to agree, here. Though it is a "beetle", it has a unique ability, more powerful than other vermin I've seen. Also, yes, they are more cunning than average vermin. I believe their entry states that they use pieces of grass and sticks to camouflage themselves, which shows intelligence.

    Beholder-kin, Eyeless Orb

Nicely done! I think this one will need to be in the next cavern my PCs adventure into :)

Another Creature Catalog query for Dragon?

Awesome. I look forward to their preparation, as needed for the submission.

    New beholderkin - perhaps?

    Nice concept!

    How do you pronounce...

I figured Baatezu would make its way in here as well ;) I've always pronounced it bah-tay-ZOO (and bah-tor). Do they include some pronunciations for the denizens of the planes as well?

    Ultimate Homebrew Index

    Holy crap huge double-post!

    How do you pronounce...

That's how I used to pronounce it, and sometimes still do. I figure even if no one comes out with what's "correct" here, I'll at least get a feel for how others may pronounce it.

    How do you pronounce...

Tanar'ri? This has been a question I've had for quite awhile, but it was brought back to light for me during our last session, as the PCs stepped through a portal to the Outer Planes. During this journey, they are sure to encounter some of the above ;) I've heard it pronounced 2 ways, mostly...

    Converting monsters from Dungeon Magazine

True, true. Ok, 10 rounds is more sane :)

What monsters do you want to see in Dragon magazine? (#2)

Cave Fisher! I used to love those in 2nd Ed; great subterranean creature! The Umpleby also gets my vote, along with several others. I always thought the Umpleby (umplebies? :-p) were interesting creatures, though I have yet to use one in an encounter.
