I agree with you on this. I think, just as I and others have said, they simply prefer to bolster the potential value of their licensees by not providing the PDF format.

Would I buy a 5E FRCS? Yes! Do I think that would be a good choice for WotC to make rather than publishing, say, a completely new setting book that people can point to and say, "Now THAT is 5th Edition D&D."? No.

Rolemaster might very well be the system for you. Word of warning: the onus on the GM to know the rules is much greater than, say, 5E, Pathfinder, or PF2.

I think Paizo (or WOTC) could do it on more of a print to order and then print-on-demand type of structure after the initial run of the issue. I think the problem is more that magazine publishers haven’t changed how they do things in a long time, much like book publishers.

I still think this is the best way that Paizo can diversify easily. Work with WotC to produce a physical DUNGEON and DRAGON again. I'd buy into that at once.

You aren't wrong. I haven't seen a single 3PP product that was both 5E AND PF2 yet. That's more what I'm getting at. It seems 3PP don't see it to be worth the effort, which may mean that Paizo's number two spot in the market might fade away beneath them. I like PF2. The table I am playing at is...

I'm sure it has already been said, but it is telling that 3PP are not jumping on the PF2 wagon. Some are continuing to produce projects for PF1 or they are discontinuing Pathfinder support altogether.
