    D&D 4E Is 4E a 'Rules Light' Game?

Definitely. Rules light but robust, if that makes sense.

    Specific Clarifications on OGL 1.0a

Legally, yes, Wizards of the Coast could make the GSL incompatible with CC. But there's no reason for them to do so. There's a huge incentive to make it incompatible with the OGL, on the other hand.

Steve Jobs takes over as WotC CEO!

Are you kidding? That'd be hilarious! The PC would describe all the rules he has to follow, and the PC could talk about how the groovy exception-based design means he can ignore all the rules!

    Specific Clarifications on OGL 1.0a

Yes - and it has been done for games like Action and Spirit of the Century. However, I would recommend using Creative Commons because we don't know yet how the GSL will affect the OGL (IOW, using the GSL might stop people from using OGL in the same product but it won't stop people from using CC...

Simple Skill Challenge Fix - The 1:1 System

I'm not Stalker0, but skill challenges are just like any other encounter. PCs are about 80% likely to succeed at a combat encounter, why shouldn't they be 80% likely to succeed at an out-of-combat encounter?

    D&D 4E Classless 4e

Weapon proficiencies, skill training, armor proficiencies and bonuses to Defenses are all already covered by the feat system. All you need is how many feats a certain HP/HS value is worth, and how much each class feature is worth.

You don't like the new edition? Tell me about it!

I like 4E, but I feel a bit disillusioned by its release. I suppose I had unreasonably expected it to be perfect. Here are seven things I don't like about the new edition: Skill challenges don't seem to work. Feats are very limited, mainly because of poorly thought-out ability score requirements...

    Wizards of the Coast Fonts

I know some of the fonts Wizards uses are in-house, but I was wondering if all of them are. For example, two different fonts are used for the body text - one that looks a bit like Calibri and one that looks a bit like Times New Roman. Does anyone know if Wizards used just in-house fonts for...

    A "Basic" mistake

Would it make sense to make the Basic set contain all the necessary rules, but only go from levels 1 to 5? And only include wizards, clerics, rogues and fighters? That way, you learn the correct rules but it's not a 'textbook'-sized rulebook. And there's plenty of space for monsters and DMing...

    Monster Template (Word)

I would prefer a template that stays true to the formatting of the Monster Manual. While I think Wizards used in-house fonts, I've tried to get as close to the original design as possible. (Attachment uses Calibri: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calibri for DL info)

    You and your dice...

I'm afraid I'm heartlessly utilitarian in my use of dice. I use whatever dice I can find, I leave a trail of them behind as I go, and I'm constantly borrowing dice off people. I would've used the new dice, any old dice I had, whatever you give me.

    Two Hit Monsters

I really like this idea. Please include some monsters like this in your fantastic collection of 4E minis-based monsters.

    Weapon/Implement Transparency

Hi guys, I've been trying to figure out what confuses and annoys me about 4E's weapon-implement-at-will-power mix. I think what I want is for implements to be identical to weapons - that is, each implement has a proficiency bonus, a set damage, a range, etc. Then every class's at-will powers...

    Balancing Rituals without Gold

Time delay? As in, after using a ritual you cannot use any rituals for a number of days equal to the ritual level.

D&D 4E Why I hate the Hydra: —and other dumbed down 4E monsters—

You hit, but your weapon bounces off its rubbery surface. You hit, but its glistening skin is unaffected by your fire burst because it didn't penetrate a weak point. Etc.

    Have you seen this monster?

Pathfinder has a generic 'broken weapon' property. I thought this was a great idea and a perfect fit for rust monsters. Does 4E have something similar?

    Fun low level paladin combo

I would love to see (when I actually get the books) powerplays like those that appeared in Dragon back in the early months of 3E. A key one for me would be good at-wills to be encounter powers, since I think a lot of people are disappointed with half-elves.
