I've used d12 for heavy crossbows, and that worked fine. However you might want to consider making mighty bows more available. A plus to damage if the welder has the strength seems more realistic than increasing damage dice for bows.

The way I'd use this would be to have the bonus/penalty apply on the 2nd and subsquent attacks by the same weapon in the same round. So example a very fast weapon +2, with a BAB of +14/+9/+4 , you get +2 on the +9, and +4 attacks if using the same weapon.

The effect is the same as bullrush, so i'd use the same rules. Iron might has rules for this, Forced movement, attack at -10 if succesful oppent is move 5', but not into a occupied sqaure.

I think to make the idea work. Armour would have to reduce damage. Which it does in systems like the conan rpg. However with D&D I don't thinks its a practical idea.
