Why the merger of two categories?

This is information I wish I'd known beforehand. Is it available on the ENnies site? It could have helped us to avoid the issue below. I wish a heads-up had been sent, either officially or unofficially. 20/20 hindsight and all. Regardless of reasons, the truth is that we, the podcasting...

Why the merger of two categories?

Let me shed some light at least on the lack of podcasting submissions. Frankly, the submission process for a digitally available product (and while I'm talking about podcasts, I'll include here as well PDF game products) is archaic and ridiculous. Why should I go through the process of burning...

    2008 ENnie Awards Nominees Announced!

Congrats to all nominees! (I'm in involved in two nominated products, what fun!) On a side note: there really should be a separate forum for ENnies talk.

What is a "Creative Commons" license? Does it help a 4e early release?

And it was taken there already (I forgot to post the link to this thread as well): http://www.enworld.org/forum/showthread.php?t=235154

Available Now: Points of Conflict -- a 4E Licensed Product

By the way, I took the GSL/CC discussion to the RPG Legalities forum: http://www.enworld.org/forum/showthread.php?p=4368079

Available Now: Points of Conflict -- a 4E Licensed Product

After a quick check of this forum, and anecdotal evidence from 5 years of being a publisher posting announcements here and reading those from other publishers, I can tell you this is not true. Overwhemingly all of us post our own stories and scoops (I can only think of one or two cases where the...

(Mongoose) Wraith Recon Announced for 4e

Yeah, I see that. I think I saw the word "Recon" and subconsiously assumed a few more things than what you wrote.

GSL & CC - Do they play together?

In this thread, http://www.enworld.org/forum/showthread.php?t=234856, Bob Goat releases a free GSL-produced D&D 4e product (all kosher under GSL, as it's free so it can ignore the Oct. 1 date), but when you look at it, the author also releases content via Creative Commons, as follows: Now, the...

4E-compatible Kingdoms of Kalamar setting released

GSL or copyright? It appears to be that you're going the copyright route, but then again you're claiming compatibility with D&D (as opposed to just 4e) so I'm wondering.

(Mongoose) Wraith Recon Announced for 4e

Hmm... Interesting. I guess they are willing to let "fantasy" stretch out a good way to incorporate modern/fantasy hybrids. Thanks, Matt.

(Mongoose) Wraith Recon Announced for 4e

Is this GSL or also going the copyright route? (I imagine so, as the GSL is very specific about supporting only fantasy designs.)

What is a "Creative Commons" license? Does it help a 4e early release?

CC has no effect on GSL product release. Roger released his free product because the GSL allows GSL-covered products to be released prior to Oct. 1 if they are free.

Available Now: Points of Conflict -- a 4E Licensed Product

::Looks up that section:: Hmm, I see what you're saying, but I would still want to check this with a lawyer (perhaps Clark), just to be on the safe side. Thing is you could potentially be held liable if someone misinterprets what is covered under the GSL and the CC, and uses a GSL-protected...

Available Now: Points of Conflict -- a 4E Licensed Product

Wow, so an actual GSL product with compatibility logo and everything, cool. Good luck with that. I am curious about something, though: you have attached a Creative Commons licensing to the product as well: Is this allowed? Did you check with WotC or a lawyer, or did you just put it so that...
