    KotS adjustment *spoiler*

They are Kobolds, they are not stupid. They don't want to die, just capture some slaves. The TPK was actually do to stupid mistakes on the PC end. They all rushed the Dragonshields, including the soft targets. They left the Wrympriest alone and he sat back lobbed his killer ranged attack at...

    KotS adjustment *spoiler*

Tpk I'm running a mixed group of veteran RPGers and newbs. We have been putting off running 4e, so the players are still getting used to their roles in the party and 4e in general. In the encounter as the PCs are leaving Winterhaven, I had a TPK. The combo of the wyrmpriest and dragonshields...

    Why does WotC hate Macs?

I just installed XP on my Macbook Pro. I don't run any windoze programs, but I'm going to try DDI for a year when it comes out. I figured on it taking me a month to get XP up and running. With the help of Bootcamp I had it running in three hours. I had VMWare running an hour later. I love Macs...

    FR Podcast is up

Gnomes don't exist any more, all the cities are wiped out? I thought that they just weren't including Gnomes in the PHB. I didn't know that they were going to kill them off. I'm a Gray Box kind of guy, so I guess the changes don't upset me. The Realms has become too complicated for me. This is...

    FR Podcast is up

The realms was originally called the Forgotten Realms because the fair people of this little rock that we live on have forgotten the realms, excepting in myth. We were connected at one time through portals. This was Ed's original idea. Mr. Greenwood sold the rights to his creation and other...

    FR Podcast is up

There was much debate on the forerunner of these boards when the 3e FR setting was announced. Wizards actually asked for suggestions on what they should include in the book. One of the main fan suggestions was the economics of the realms. There was also a long debate over how to attach the map...

    FR Podcast is up

Out of that thirty plus minute podcast, the naysayers couldn't find a single thing that you liked or are looking forward to? It seems that individuals are determined to dislike the new FR setting. I thought that it was very interesting how much Ed Greenwood had contributed to the setting...

    Help Please!

Thanks for all the good advice. Sounds like I am in over my head. :D I encourage roleplaying and free-thinking in my group of twenty and thirty year olds, I will do my best to do so in these groups, but I suspect that the atmosphere and size of group will be different than I am used to. My...

    Help Please!

Lots of outstanding replies here. I appreciate all the advice. These will be very helpful. I have lined up a second DM in case more teens show up than I can run myself. They don't believe in doing sign ups ahead of time at my wife's library. I am going to point him here and then we can...

    Help Please!

I have looked on the site and can't find anything, but the gameday info. My wife is convinced that it is for retailers only and that you have to run it on the 7th. Can libraries participate in this program? Thanks for the reply. Space

    Help Please!

My wife is a local teen librarian. She asked me to run a 4e game for her summer program. I have two problems: 1. I have never run a library game before 2. The start date is 6/10/08 I've been running games for close to thirty years, but have never run a game before where the majority of the...

    How long after June 6?

I have to run a library game on 6/10. I will get the books at midnight on 6/6. That will give me three days to absorb the rules and be ready to pass them on to eager teens. Space

'Dungeons & Dragons' fights for its future

I wasn't trying to be negative. I just thought that it was kind of funny that he was so far off. He will be surprised when he logs on and actually has to look for people to play with. It's gathering momentum hopefully more outlets will pick up the article.

'Dungeons & Dragons' fights for its future

USA Today has picked up the article http://www.usatoday.com/tech/gaming/2008-04-01-dungeons-dragons_N.htm It has a picture of the Tabletop, to boot and comments by users thinking that it is an MMO.

'Dungeons & Dragons' fights for its future

I saw WoW start up CDs at WalMart, at the register. $$ DDi will never achieve this. You will have to have an established group in order to use DDI. The only way DDi will succede in getting new players, is to appeal to established groups, like WoW groups. I don't see it happening. I run games...

'Dungeons & Dragons' fights for its future

I hope that DDI makes a fraction of what WoW makes. That can only be win, win for us. From what little I have seen of it, I have my doubts. I have my doubts that it will be functional by June. They will have to give trials away, at software stores, and be priced below WoW.
