    Do You Title Your Sessions?

I used to. I got the inspiration from the titles of the Babylon 5 episodes, which were usually really cool. So I wrote most of those down, did a search of some Shakespeare quotes, bible verses, etc., and just picked one. But I'm not sure my players really got into them, so I've let it slide.

    Origins

Absolutely not. Unless I am mistaken, RPG events still count for the largest category. My only bummer is that, although Origins is supposed to be a gaming company convention, many companies wait until GenCon to debut their products... But it is great, and the dealer's room is not to be missed.

A Realization (maybe an epiphany?) about D&D

To the original poster: I've been playing D&D for close to 25 years. Love(d) 3.5. Will probably still play it, but... Check out Savage Worlds. It just might be everything you are looking for. Read the Test Drive rules a couple of times. If you can get a hold of the full Revised book, even...

Help me *Plot* an Invasion campaign!

...and a very good one. But, and I had not mentioned this, the aliens beyond the gate are a very big Evil with a capital "E". But that would make a very classic Trek campaign.

    Need DM advice or help

I'd take the middle ground in this particular argument, but... In a campaign I played in, our characters had an artifact that allowed us to teleport anywhere in the world, any time we wanted to. Now, granted, it made us take a short stopover on a random plane... But even with that capability...

Help me *Plot* an Invasion campaign!

http://www.peginc.com/Games/Games.htm Download the Test Drive rules, if you want to know more. The old Star Trek gamebook is out of print.

Help me *Plot* an Invasion campaign!

Savage Worlds, actually. I ordered the Last Unicorn Games Star Trek RPG from eBay (I used to own it) which is chock full of original series fluff - timelines that make sense, etc. I will be adapting it to Savage Worlds. I've even solved the PCs as Command Crew problem: Each player will have at...

Help me *Plot* an Invasion campaign!

This is good stuff. I had not planned on them being subtle at all, but it fits in with what they are, and certainly makes it more like a plot and less like an extended combat... :)

Help me *Plot* an Invasion campaign!

I hadn't considered this as the aliens are *probably* going to be of the "everyone is below us" variety, but it would certainly spice things up (and open more plot possibilities). Thanks! Next :D

Help me *Plot* an Invasion campaign!

Good advice, for a start. In fact, I remember an article in the Dragon about staging an invasion in D&D. I plan to find that article and see what I can glean.

Help me *Plot* an Invasion campaign!

That's seems like a good start. Have some of the usual "one planet, one mystery" adventures like the show, with this happening in the background. Maybe even work with the science vessel before their "discovery"... Still looking for more gems!

Gameplay Cutscenes -- Yea or Nay?

I played under a DM who used this to great effect. What he did was make sure we didn't understand who exactly was speaking; it was often someone we hadn't run into yet, and sometimes what they were talking about had nothing to do with us directly, but things happening elsewhere in the campaign.

Help me *Plot* an Invasion campaign!

I meant the question, actually, to be kind of system-independant, as the system certainly shouldn't dictate plot! :)

Help me *Plot* an Invasion campaign!

Ok, I have this great idea for a... well, a setting, as I can't seem to turn it into a campaign. It's Star Trek original series, if that means anything. I have a great alien race that will come out of a gate that a science vessel accidentally activates. At this time I don't want to say any more...

    Origins sign up is Go!!

The signup has gone seriously downhill since last year. I had to send an e-mail to them reminding them that some of us need to know how many seats are left at an event so as to co-ordinate with someone else. They had neglected to imagine that rare event. What a load of crap. And the My...

Which Campaign Setting has the best fluff? Why?

And that's what tags it, right there. There are no "wrong" answers to a purely subjective question. Pretty simple. And if you think you can quantify "fluff", please show me that math.

Which Campaign Setting has the best fluff? Why?

Exactly. But Henry, there are quite a few people on this planet who not only want everyone to know that *they* don't like something, but that want to make sure you understand that *you* are less cultured than they are for liking it. If they had their way, the things they don't like/agree with...
