    Swamp based Modules

I should also mention the Age of Worms Adventure Path module, Encounter at Blackwall Keep (Dungeon #126). There aren't any ruins but there are some decent rules for swamp travel and dangers.

    Swamp based Modules

The ruined city of Xak Tsaroth from the Dragonlance module, Dragons of Autumn (3.5) takes place in a swamp.

What is the point of the Rules Compendium?

I've found the Rules Compendium to be a good asset in terms of quickly finding and clarifying rules. I endorse its use.

    Downloading Painfully Slow?

Thanks all! I've adjusted my Firefox browser to give me the option to open or download. Much better now. The other trick also works, which was kinda neat.

    Downloading Painfully Slow?

Why does WotC force us to open Dragon and Dungeon in pdf? It is such a royal pain in the butt. I just want to download it, not open it. I've spent the past 15 minutes trying to download one issue and have now given up in frustration. ARGH!!!

    Platform of Healing

Besides, there's nothing wrong with a healing platform. Don't let game mechanics get in the way of the game! ;)

Why are undead immune to mind-affecting effects?

Probably comes from zombies/skeletons being thought of as mindless archetypes of undead, and then applied to undead in general.

    Interpretations/citations for Animate Dead details?

I think a lot of the instructions are far too complicated for any zombie to understand. Especially without the caster being right there alongside them to guide them every step of the way. As a DM I'd allow it, then chuckle when the PC finds out the zombies are strung out all over the...

    Character Wealth Confusion

A lot of DMs put a cap of no more than 50% of starting gold can be spent on any one item. That helps prevent someone running around with a holy avenger type weapon and nothing else.

    Ways to Track Dying

Maybe have them use the status spell and expand it a bit to let them know how the dying is progressing? I don't see it as a bad thing that PCs eagerly seek to help dying PCs out. I've run campaigns where PCs just ignore dying PCs and concentrate on finishing the battle and if the dying PCs die...

    A thief run town... How?

Think about the real life pirate town of Tortuga (or even modern-day Somalia) and mine that for ideas.

    Official posts on DDM changes

Anyone who bought minis on the secondary market knew long ago that sales were down. It was obvious from the spiraling decline in the number of online sellers. My own purchases showed the same thing. I peaked around War Drums and have been much more selective ever since. Adding to the problem...

WotC changes how D&D mini's are going to be sold.

This is interesting. Tell us more...

WotC changes how D&D mini's are going to be sold.

It's all about labour costs. You can pay someone in China a couple bucks (if that) a day vs. 10 times that amount in North America. Plus, painting minis is labour intensive so labour costs probably represent a higher than average cost. When you're shipping tens of thousands of units at a time...

Irreconcilable differences(Forked Thread: When did I stop being WotC's...)

If you don't believe there's a HUGE difference between the negative reaction to 4E vs. the negative reaction to 3E, then I'm sorry but nothing anyone says is going to change your opinion because you're not accepting reality.

When did I stop being WotC's target audience?

I feel the same way as the OP.

    Platform of Healing

Just say if it's moved from the location it was created in, it ceases to function. Problem solved.

WotC changes how D&D mini's are going to be sold.

You know, this kinda makes my current collection (2,000 - 3,000 strong) much more useful. In future I likely won't be able to buy gobs of commons for cheap and selectively purchase large numbers of uncommons for reasonable prices. So now I'll be more selective in future and rely upon the minis...

How do you make effective game use of WotC's Dungeon Tiles?

I have one or more of every set and my experience has been to exclusively use them as components on my battlemap. I don't think I've ever used them to entirely map out a room. They're just not versatile (no pun intended!) enough for that. They're better for furnishings and detailed stuff that...
