    Any good Scifi+cyberpunk rpgs?

We've added cyberpunk elements to Traveller with no problems. It gives you the hardcore space adventure and the different alien races. And the setting is so huge, you can put in just about anything you want -- there's a star system for it somewhere.

Austin to Indy in 18 hours! (Seeking roadtrip homies)

18 hours? I'm curious which route you drive. Last year my wife and I drove to Indy. We started in Temple, which is an hour north of Austin. It took us 16 hours (over two days). We went to Dallas, then over to Texarkana, Little Rock, Memphis, Nashville, Louisville and then Indy. I checked the...

Chapter VIII Date: 210-993 Location: Aboard the Bray Keaven, approaching Kerin's Tyr Kevon, who was starting to plot the Donovan’s course, looks up in shock at Swann’s realization. "Ms. Smythe, put every erg of power you can into the drives; we need to stop these guys," the captain orders...

Everyone, Tell us about your games, please!

1.) Five 2.) Yes 3.) One other player DMs; he and I take turns 4.) Two males, three females 5.) Depends on your definition of good. There is store in Killeen, 25 miles away, called Paper Heroes, that is decent, but it is small and also has a large offering of comics. It has no room...

<not the adventure> Burn down the town

Yeah, we set a fire inside a town surrounded by a wooden palisade as a diversion for an escape from jail. We barely got out the gate on the other side of town in time to avoid being killed by the flames. The town was destroyed, and many people died in the fire.

Traveller T20: Tales of the Bray Keaven [Updated 12-20-05]

Another thing I've noticed when compiling this story hour is that many incidents turn out to foreshadow later events. And I think often it is more serendipity or synchronicity than it is intentional design. Ron has mentioned on several occassions that he takes ideas the players mention in their...

    World Largest Dungeon Cheap

Wait, which Dragon's Lair is going out of business? All of the stores or just one? They can't go out of business, that's where I buy most of my gaming stuff when I'm in Austin. :(

Batman Begins, and it's not even close.

Serenity Film Question (not looking for spoilers please)

Having attended one of the preview screenings, I got the impression that the movie at least covers much of what Joss wanted unfilmed episodes of the series to cover in the first season, and maybe even some things beyond the first year. There are some important things revealed, many revolving...

    War Of The Worlds

I've heard really bad things about the Pendragon version from people in Great Britain who have already seen it. The special effects are apparently pretty amateurish, and they had so few extras they kept re-using the same people in crowd scenes, wearing the same costumes, so that someone you...

Traveller T20: Tales of the Bray Keaven [Updated 12-20-05]

Chapter VII Date: 210-993 Location: Kerin's Tyr, Linkworlds Cluster, Ley Sector Without much fanfare, but with some tension, the Bray Keaven emerges from jump space at 0015 hours Standard Imperial Time. The F class star that Kerin's Tyr orbits glows faintly 35 degrees up and 15 degrees to...

Who pays for your group's "Party Leader" t-shirt?

I remember going to a D&D team tournament in Austin once at which the members of one team all wore matching T-shirts that said "Not Dead Yet." All of the DMs took that as a personal challenge. Three tournament rounds. Three different DMs. Three TPKs.

Who pays for your group's "Party Leader" t-shirt?

Our party leader T-shirt is bright yellow, and goes to whoever scores highest on the quarterly closed-book rules test. I've been wearing that shirt every session since 3.0 came out.
