    4e Videogame

My vote is 100% for a final fantasy tactics like game. I mean, jesus jumping christ it would be absolutely perfect. You could do ANYTHING 4e in that type of system. It would be great if they managed to squeeze everything in 4e into it, and have like a party of 5 characters you can build yourself...

    HELP! Throwing blasts?

For martial? Kill me, but my first thought was halfling throwing stone master paragon path for rogue, prior to that making sure to take as many of the rogue burst attacks as possible. Other than that, this seems to be alot like the artificer sample, with the thrown weapons that explode and are...

Dark Residuum (Rituals, Items and Hazards to come!)

Shinobi has got it right about similarities to the shadowweave (though thats not what I was aiming for, the ideas are very similar), and right now I AM working on more uses for it so that has more than just the anti-teleport field. Including Cursed items, focus items, ways to dispel other...

    Active Perception House Rules

How I do it: Roll normally, if you roll lower than your passive perception, use that instead. Simpler, and you still use a d20.

Bag of tricks bag of trick bag of tricks yesss.

Gailbraithe: I disagree: while this write-up doesn't explicitly say that you can use the item for non-combat purposes, it still practically screams to be used in such a way. Only now the player has DIRECT control over the creature. Its combat usefulness just means that the player who buys the...

    Glass jaw of PC defenses

Family has it right. His rogue is good but not savagely optimized either, and from what I've seen, that is basically how it looks with relatively well put together characters. If you went from 1-30 with so many chances to remake yourself you really should be able to figure something out :)

Dark Residuum (Rituals, Items and Hazards to come!)

Dark Residuum: A strange mirror of ordinary Residuum, Dark Residuum has many interesting anti-magic properties. Rarely found naturally occuring in the Shadowfell, Dark Residuum Is most often created using the Corrupt Residuum ritual. Dark Residuum has appears as a deep burnished silver dust...

Bag of tricks bag of trick bag of tricks yesss.

http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/4pr/20080807a There it is, black and white, clear as crystal! I love this for a few reasons: 1. It is a silly and fun item, useful in combat, but mostly just silly and fun. 2. It shows us how pets might, and likely will, work! Its elegantly simple. 3...

I rolled a 20 on my Save vs. Death!

I love that rule! (He is playing 4e, and no, that is not a house rule, it is RAW and I'm betting RAI)

    Assassin Class

I'm sorry if this seems condescending but have you looked in the PHB? The rogue and many of the rogue's paragon paths basically are the assassin. If you want some assassin style magic than a warlock multiclass is easy and effective and can give you almost all the assassin magic as well. Also...

Best PDF making tool. (Campaign Handouts)

I am looking to start working on my campaign handouts soon, and was thinking it would be nice if they were all formatted and nice like the one in the recent dungeon article: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/dudc/20080716 What are Enworld's favorite programs for this sort of thing? Any...

Demonically Illiterate; Who's this Demogorgon guy?

I know that people are saying that Demororororgon and Dagon's shtick are very similar, and that is true, but after reading a bit about your proposed campaign, Rechan, I have to suggest you go with Dagon instead. In my mind, he fits a bit better, also he has more of a 'oceans / horrible alien...

    Battle Acuity

A player of mine wants to play a monk, and we both feel that the ranger-> monk conversion is the way to go (with a few changes). I've started homebrewing certain feats and extra powers to give it some more monk flavor. Ill post more later. Tell me what you think. Battle Acuity Prerequisites...

DMing your way into a corner

Well, you can always have interesting natives... Perhaps they are incredibly savage and primitive, yet have an inexplicably potent and extensive grasp of arcane magic? Maybe the PCs have to make choices like Subjugate or ally with the natives. Perhaps the PCs get a disease that they need the...

    Help name my campaign!

Dusk of Oppression... I like that. I will think about using it.

New Class -- Historian (think Indiana Jones / Tomb Raider)

I salute salute this class. I also extend a minor (but still substantial) salute to generalhenry, for taking one for the team and getting the text on the wiki for all to see.

Destructive Terrain and more dynamic battlefields

Oh, thats what I intended from the beginning. This is a stat to be generated and then used on the fly. Player flings someone into a medium statue, in my head I think 40hp. Is his score bigger? Y/N? Math done, faster than even rolling a D20 and adding modifiers.

Tormenting a character, for fun and profit.

GRAFTS! HA-WOO! Seriously, big, horrible, wood, stone and metal limbs. Maybe she needs them because of some degenerative disease that eats away at her musculature? Perhaps they were put on by some well intentioned but kinda nutzy folk? Mordain the fleshweaver, some Shades, a tribe of...

Yeah, no place for a snowflake like him. But seriously, Mialee.

Destructive Terrain and more dynamic battlefields

Bardolf: Yes - But. I'm pretty explicitly saying that this system is there so that players can destroy stuff on their own, and mostly for things like obstacles, tables, and doors. Things like buildings are still DM Fiat, but this system gives guidelines to help. Its for DM's who want to give...
