    Glass jaw of PC defenses

Wizards and swordmages can both hit 50 (or higher with situational modifiers). Granted, those are specialized builds that sacrifice some other things to make it happen, but it is possible. Example: The Iron Mage

    Swordmage booming blade "moves away"

Well, they're separate attacks, so it isn't really stacking. Besides, the only thing that doesn't stack is ongoing damage...and Booming Blade dishes out damage once if the condition is met.

    Swordmage booming blade "moves away"

That's exactly right. But since the start of its turn has already occurred, it would be the start of the foe's NEXT turn. Theoretically, you could hit the foe with Booming Blade as an OA, then move adjacent to them and hit them again on your turn, and deal the penalty damage twice if they move...

    DDI for $7.95

Not interested in paying $15/month for DDI, but I could get behind $5/month for Dragon, Dungeon, and a few extras.

    Swordmage booming blade "moves away"

To add to the questions, what happens if you use Booming Blade as an OA (via Heavy Blade Opportunity)?

    Making your own power cards

Thank you! This is quite useful. I did have to edit the cards - the weapon powers all say '1' or '2' instead of [1W] or [2W]. That only took a few minutes, though.

    Gaming Tables

Thanks for the advice, everyone! Since I'm not very good at crafting, I may just wait a bit longer and see what I can find with a more detailed search. Yes. However, one option is to purchase a table like that, keep the legs folded in, and prop the table up on something (boxes, bricks, etc)...

    Making your own power cards

Ander, will your cards be updated to include the Swordmage powers in the Living Forgotten Realms preview?

How is FR changing with 4E?

Yeah, because he had so much time to practice that bluff skills as a mortal... All told, Cyric's been around less than a hundred years, as opposed to the eternity that Tyr has existed. Granted, the whole idea that Ao would give this minor-league plotter the powers of a greater god was silly to...

Year of the Fall was also released at Origins - that's where I got my copy.

How is FR changing with 4E?

You don't shoot the goose that lays the golden eggs. You may not like the character, but Drizzt novels = money for WotC. At least he's not an epic-level character like Elminster and the others. This seems to be to be at least as big as the 2E shakeup, when they decided to have all the gods...

    Gaming Tables

My wife and I are planning to revamp the gaming room, and our gaming table (measuring 53" long by 32" wide by 20") is on its last legs. The table has a couch on each side, and three comfy chairs (two on one end, and one on the other). We've found the current table to be slightly small for the...

    Best D&D Adventures

    * Against the Giants (G1/G2/G3) - it feels like cheating, since it's actually three modules, but there is enough of a link between the three to justify it. One of my favorite D&D memories is the epic fight in the center room of the Hill Giant keep, where we barely survived. * The Lost Island of...

    FR Preview-Sword Mage and Genasi

Any epic-level minions with Resist Fire of 20 or less shouldn't count, as any Swordmage with Greenflame Blade will take the Irresistible Flame feat.

    N. Robin Crossby Harn's creator passes away

I have fond memories of Harn. At least it appears Robin set up for the care of the world in his absence. He will be missed. (I wonder if Columbia Games will bother to mention his passing...)

    FR Preview-Sword Mage and Genasi

Minions go bye-bye when you start hitting people with Greenflame Blade...which makes the ability to do that on OAs pretty sweet. You can do it with a Genasi or Eladrin while increasing Int at every opportunity, if you can wait to 24th to get it. My Genasi has Str 16, Con 14, Dex 13, Int 18...

    FR Preview-Sword Mage and Genasi

    * Opportunity Attacks * Bonus damage on many powers (Greenflame Blade, Flame Cyclone, Burning Blade) * Feat qualifications (Armor Proficiency: Hide, Heavy Blade Opportunity, Heavy Blade Mastery) Heavy Blade Opportunity is particularly important. Not only can you use an Int-based attack instead...

    Best Base Class for Multiclassing?

I agree. You don't pick one class as a generic "multiclassing" class - you pick a class knowing it has synergy with another class that you want to multiclass into. Some examples of good multiclass options: * Fighter --> Warlord (use Str to hit with Fighter and Warlord powers) * Paladin -->...
