    [OOC] [D&D 3.5: FR] Silverdale

About 50 miles north of Tilverton, just beyond the Shadow Gap in the Desertsmouth Mountains, the Dales Council has commissioned the creation of a fort and a small community to guard the gap: Silverdale. The tiny community, numbering only 100 souls so far, mostly soldiers and their families...

    AD&D 2E 2E Opinions

The only thing that's really different is the artwork and the "look" of the books. There's a few errata fixes I think, but that's about it.

    Where'd the buttons go?

The buttons went poof right after the big front page ads went poof. I'm using Internet Explorer...um...yeah, the most recent one, I think.

    Where'd the buttons go?

First, forgive my lack of technical expertise. Second, where did the buttons go? The line of them acorss the mid-top of the page, regardless of where you were, that linked to everything (forums, blogs, news, etc). I have the front news page bookmarked but without the buttons, I had a hard...

    OOC 3.5 Savage Tide

I'm thinking a half-elven or elven wizard/rogue based loosely on the Collector kit from the AD&D 2nd Edition Complete Book of Elves (in concept, not mechanics). Basically an Indiana Jones type with a keen interest in exploration and discovery, coupled with a desire to make sure artifacts of...

    OOC 3.5 Savage Tide

You'll probably lose me if you start anywhere beyond level 1. Building a character from the very beginning and watching them grow is kind of my schtick. ;) I also rather liked the idea of limiting it to SRD + FR only, but that's just me. :D That said... Ability Scores: Point Buy? If so...

    OOC 3.5 Savage Tide

What kind of pacing (1 post a day, 1 post a week, etc)? Character creation details? By the way, yes, I am interested. :D

    Monster Classes

According to the rules as written, yes, you have to take the monster class and take it through to the end before multiclassing. Some DMs (myself included) house rule that and allow the character to multiclass whenever they like.

What are you a minority about?

I love... Crazy, wacky, and just plain weird monstrous PCs of all stripes. Tracking fiddly bits like ammunition, rations, even spell components. 3.5 magic item crafting rules, including the XP cost. Non-optimized characters, including single digit ability scores (caveat: with the ability to...

The Worst Awsome thing done in a game.

The party wizard had taken a potion of gaseous form during a battle with an assassin that the PCs had learned to hate. Said assassin, being a mercenary sort and not afraid to retreat, decided to abandon her allies and teleport away. Gaseous form wizard wanted to kill her once and for all and...

    Never Played 1st Edition

I went from the red box Basic D&D straight to AD&D 2nd Edition, skipping AD&D 1st Edition entirely. Well, I recently acquired the 1E core books + MM2, Dungeoneer's Survival Guide, Oriental Adventures, and Fiend Folio and I'm seriously thinking about giving it a try. Problem is, just paging...

How soon do you see warning signs of a TPK?

Generally speaking, if characters are low on hit points and the bad guys aren't, then one character falls...a TPK is close behind for my groups. I've never had players who, as a group, run away to fight another day. They always fight to the bitter end.

The Ability Hoard (aka, The Treasure of Capacity)

It's never come up. ;) Mainly because I handwave living expenses (which I suppose ale and whores would fall under).

The Ability Hoard (aka, The Treasure of Capacity)

When I'm DMing I tend to adjust encounters so my players don't need a bunch of "stuff" if they don't want it.

The Ability Hoard (aka, The Treasure of Capacity)

Definately the "ability hoard." Equipping a character with gear and magic items and such is always a chore and my least favorite part of making or playing a character.

What rule does your group ignore?

Milestones. We just use action points as an encounter "power." You have one, period, and it comes back after a short rest (if you used it). No fuss, no muss.
