    Secretive Behavior and Conspiracy Theories

To be fair, aren't you the guy who posts to ENWorld while intoxicated? You know, if you're blacking out while doing that, you might have a problem... :)

Huh... Wonder why the other thread was locked... Very curious...

Gabe(Penny Arcade)'s DND, CardGame RPG Hybrid

Not sure about the Kickstarter part, but there was a Genisys RPG previewed here on ENWorld recently that used cards (and had a very similar wound mechanic).

    Philosophical Q - Emotional compromised

Janx: while yes, subtle differences may mask the fact that you find yourself in an alternate universe, my hypothetical in the first post dealt with the situation where you know it is an alternate universe - a much more interesting proposition. I just thought of the old series Sliders - the crew...

What Does Your Favorite RPG Do Best?

ahem... I will refrain from prosthelytizing too much :) In short, combat and intrigue work in a very similar way - you have both a Health and a Composure total. Lose all your Health, you are defeated in combat (not necessarily death). Lose all your Composure, you are defeated in intrigue...

What Does Your Favorite RPG Do Best?

Chronicle System by Green Ronin, as currently implemented by ASoIaF RPG (generic supplements on the horizon) Big draws: - an intrigue/social resolution system that offers a back-and-forth as interesting as combat - a combat system that puts injuries and wounds under a player's control (so...

GMs & DMs: What do you do with (severely) unbalanced adventuring parties?

Sorry to go way back to this post, and perhaps you have clarified your words in a later one, but the issue here isn't one of my players thinking I'm crappy, but of *you* calling me crappy because I apparently "passive aggressively punish my players for not playing a balanced party" (Perhaps not...

GMs & DMs: What do you do with (severely) unbalanced adventuring parties?

I let the chips fall where they may. Usually after telling them, "All rogues? Interesting. Let's see where them chips fall..."

Turning Children's Books into D&D Adventures

I watch Disney Junior and Treehouse TV with my two and a half year old twins. I wonder if my players would blanch at the discovery of how many simple quests are thinly vieled redressed of plots from animated kids shows (Backyardigans, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Octonauts, and Mike the...

    Favorite Doctor from Doctor Who

That's very possible. I have a passing familiarity with the earlier Doctors, but could not tell you a thing about their companions. Of the newest ones, I like Rose the best.

    Favorite Doctor from Doctor Who

I've not seen enough of older Dr Who to do a complete ranking, but of the most recent Doctors, the Tenth is my favorite, followed by the Eleventh, and then the Ninth.

MMO terms and tabletop, anyone completely ANNOYED by this?

While an unfortunate situation - truly, right up their with socially awkward gamer explaining the exploits of his fighter-wizard-cleric-paladin-assassin who was allowed to break alignment restrictions because... blah blah blah... ... *anyways* it is not the fault of Monty Python for such, but...

MMO terms and tabletop, anyone completely ANNOYED by this?

So... You're saying it's time for something completely different?

    The Three Hobbit Films

I'm not completely sure, but I believe the rights to the Silmarillion have not, and likely will not, been sold outside the Tolkien Estate. They're able to stretch The Hobbit story by the LotR Appendices (rights to which were sold with those books).

Official D&D names to avoid for published eBook

Happens frequently by folks who have deals with publishing houses and thus, very likely, lawyers on retainer who vet stuff. Disclaimer - thought pulled entirely from nether regions not called the Shadowfell...

    The Three Hobbit Films

To be fair, while you may think your assumption of the plot for #3 is short... there's nothing wrong with short. Not everything needs to be a three-four hour epic.
