    D&D 5E (2014) (IC) Fitz's Folly

With some direction given, and someone else dealing with the magic, Ghorrak shrugged and continued along the hallway. Going Up-Left since it doesn't seem to matter much with the information we have

    D&D 5E (2014) (IC) Fitz's Folly

Ghorrak waved his arms to attract the rest of the groups attention, then wiggled his fingers in imitation of someone using magic, then pointed at the quarterstaff. He mimed striking with the staff before miming a second time much harder than the first and hoped the others would take his...

D&D 5E (2014) Rules Question: Upcasting Into Levels Unknown

Someone asked about it on twitter a few years ago

    D&D 5E (2014) (IC) Fitz's Folly

Ghorrak chose to ignore the hallway for a moment to focus on the staff. He'd picked up a fair bit knowledge about magic over the years spent around Red Wizards and hoped to recall something useful. Arcana: 1D20+3 = [19]+3 = 22

    D&D 5E (2014) (IC) Fitz's Folly

Ghorrak watched the broodguard run into the sloping hallway and considered staying leaned against the wall. Moments of rest had been few and far between in his life and now that he was momentarily free of the cursed Thayans he was sorely tempted to enjoy this one for a moment longer. But he...

Here's my rough back story for the kobold barbarian

D&D General "I Like to Play D&D on My Birthday" (a poll)

One of my favorite birthdays was when I started playing DnD with an online group at midnight, played until 4 or 5, then woke up at noon and started playing with my college friends at around 6 PM and played until midnight. I like to play D&D on my birthday, even if it rarely happens anymore

The Savage Sea (5E) [3-5 level 4 *OOC*]

Well, I've got two ideas at the moment. Seeing the geographical comparison to Louisiana reminded me of a character I made for a Southern Gothic campaign that died, who was one of the last two remaining members of a once noble house that had rotted away trying to find a way to save his dying...

The Savage Sea (5E) [3-5 level 4 *OOC*]

Tentative interest depending on character creation rules. When you say PHB + Tashas do you mean only the races/subclasses in those two books?

D&D 5E (2014) Re-gripping your weapon uses an object interaction?

I'm not going to get out of bed to check my PHB but I'm about 80% you can draw a weapon as part of the attack action. But it's written in natural language and that apparently means it is impossible to tell.

D&D 5E (2014) I have never once worried about "encounters per day" when prepping D&D 5E (a poll)

I don't even worry about what level my players are a lot of the time, let alone encounters per day

D&D 5E (2014) Re-gripping your weapon uses an object interaction?

This feels like a tremendous stretch to me

    D&D 5E (2014) (IC) Fitz's Folly

Relief flooded through Ghorrak and he attempted to smile in thanks. It had been years since he had last made or received a friendly gesture and he was unsure if he was successfully expressing gratitude or just baring his teeth in an unsettling way. He kept trying anyway.

D&D 5E (2014) Re-gripping your weapon uses an object interaction?

There's nothing in the rules that says you must always hold a 2 handed weapon at all times, only that you need to have both hands on it to attack with it.

    D&D 5E (2014) (IC) Fitz's Folly

Ghorrak moved up and tried to take in any information he could but the poison interfered again, so he just grunted and leaned against a wall instead. Ghorrak continues to see nothing perception: 2D20.LOW(1)+3 = [3, 13]+3 = 6

D&D 5E (2014) Re-gripping your weapon uses an object interaction?

I wouldn't rule that regripping a sword takes an object interaction at all, because you aren't drawing or stowing it, and for what its worth JC appears to agree

    D&D 5E (2014) (IC) Fitz's Folly

Content with the very little information he had about the bizarre door Ghorrak once again hefted his sword and ran down the hall. In a moment of solidarity for a fellow unwilling servant, he ignored his growing nausea and pushed himself to run a bit further than normal. I'll move and dash, and...

    (OOC) Fitz's Folly (ToA PBP)

Thanks for the recap, I keep meaning to read the rest of the topic to catch up but...it's a lot. My vote is still for #1, for the reasons in my last post. And blindly delving deeper without at least doing a cursory sweeps tends to be a mistake with dungeons IME, but I'll gladly defer to the...

    (OOC) Fitz's Folly (ToA PBP)

Had the skeleton not been attacked I would've been fine ignoring it but at the moment I'm reluctant to go downstairs and let it go away. Without knowing anything about it I'm worried that it could be intelligent and running off to alert someone or something, and then having to deal with...

D&D 5E (2014) Why my friends hate talking to me about 5e.

If that's the kind of game a group is after then more power to them, but I feel like they'd be better off playing a game where that's the default kind of fantasy the game cares about instead of slowly whittling away at 5th edition to get it there
