It is immediatly useful without d20 Mecha, you have the content on dp9 website: http://www.dp9.com/Products/D20Mecha.htm The description of the sample setting is quite surprisingly, sufficient to use them immediatly, and the introduction chapter provide the necessary rules to ue the mechas.
