Only alternate rules I use is I allow players to "break" armor or shields to ignore crits. Breaking results in a -2 to AC, and has to be repaired (1/4 gold value of item, or with smithing tools).

I voted other because, honestly, the market is way too saturated with RPG games right now. I think that's an extension of indie boardgames getting popular over the last decade, but RPG's take a bit more commitment to stay involved in.

I think the 4e/5e changes to magic and the way spellcasters were presented really sucks. They basically aimed to make wizards and other spellcasters as standard ranged characters with a "reskinning" of magic. End result is magic really doesn't feel magical anymore.
