I was not that impressed by the HEX rules when I read through the book, but I played in a game at the Long Island game day and it was a hell of a lot of fun. I'm actually running it at the Boston game in a couple of weeks.

The problem with including dragons at all is they are so powerful they automatically take over everything. You can't have dragons in a low-magic campaign: human's need magic to even survive against dragons!!! :uhoh:

RedBox --> AD&D --> 2E --> 3E --> 3.5. I'll be picking u4 4e. At this point I expect to be playing both 4e and 3.5 simultaneously, as I have a great deal I want to play in 3.5 left (AoW, STAP, RotR, City of Brass, the Dungeon Ebberon Adventures, several other Dungeon adventures).

It could have been Tales, and not Action, but either way it was on their new-release rack.

More to the point: most gamers who are going already bought their non-refundable tickets, so not going is only shafting the innocent exhibitors, restaurants, and hotels of revenue. As someone who is likely to play a grand total of 0 official games, I feel no guilt for going and having a great time.

I'm already starting to think about running Al-Qadim as my 4e campaign. We'll have to cobble together a Shai'ir once the rules come out. I'm sure the enterprising posters of ENWorld will be up to the task. :D
