Not to be a nitpicky jerk, but could one use a scythe as an implement as well? Here's my necromancer. I started with low level powers, feel free to use them. EDIT: I just finished reading this, and, wow, it looks AWESOME.

Not really. The fighter and the rogue kept the dragon from running the spellcaster over. Also, I really don't see why it should just be spellcasters that get death effects. Why couldn't a fighter decapitate or a rogue go for the jugular?
