    D&D 5E (2014) I have the DMG!

That is pretty cool. Certainly a reason to keep them in very safe places for very long times.

    D&D 5E (2014) PROBLEM with Banishment Spell

Yeah, a magic stick should work as Neechen said. Also because magic stick.

    D&D 5E (2014) SCROLLS Questions

Oh, interesting. I liked the former rule better, but thanks anyway.

    D&D 5E (2014) SCROLLS Questions

Of course, nowadays anyone can use scrolls, too. If they make the Arcana check.

What makes a good RPG player?

A good player has all the qualities of a good GM. Or a good GM has all the qualities of a good player. - Know the rules and be willing to compromise. - Understand your fellow players' preferences and engage them. - Understand your own preferences and present them in a positive and constructive...

    D&D 5E (2014) Elves, Wizards, Sorcerers, Charisma

I think the grace part is well covered with Dexterity. And being graceful and beautiful doesn't make you a people person. In 3.x Unapproachable East for Forgotten Realms, there were Star Elves who featured a Cha bonus, though. Converting them to 5e might get you: Star Elf +1 Cha Weapon...

    D&D 5E (2014) 'Once per turn'

Yes. It does. Rogues are out there to kill you. Hard.

    D&D 5E (2014) How would adjust a monster's CR for 4 levels of exhaustion?

Yes, but that thing is "eternally starved", whatever that is, so I would not bother with usual starvation rules.

    D&D 5E (2014) How would adjust a monster's CR for 4 levels of exhaustion?

I wouldn't use Exhaustion in this case. Disad is meant for temporary effects that might apply. Just lower the base stats. That's easier in execution; less rolling.

    D&D 5E (2014) Aboleth entry in 5e Monster Manual

So, the aboleths of old helped out some high ranking water guy, apparently.

    D&D 5E (2014) Does RAW have a place in 5e?

Why? Why cannot the players interprete the rules, and the GM knows the rules for the monsters? Surely, if trust is a two-way street, that would work?

D&D 5E (2014) what is the best class?

The one your fellow players will love you for.

New Spell: Gheistfeld (Spirit field/Spooky field)

Is that supposed to be German? Because Geist has no H. The meaning though is fine. Because Geistfeld is more like Soul Field or Mind Field. A Spooky Field would use plural Geisterfeld, or literally a Spukfeld.

    D&D 5E (2014) Anti-magic field and monster abilities

Roll dice, when I'm not sure. A saving throw for the creature in an Antimagic Field, maybe. There is a similar uncertainty with Dispel Magic, which works on spells and similar effects. In that case, I'd make it Disadvantage on the dispelling check.

    D&D 5E (2014) Detect magic

If you want, you can still allow checks to determine the presence of magic. Detect Magic then is an automatic success on all such checks.

    What feats are "missing"?

A feat to gain Channel Divinity. A feat to gain Metamagic.

    D&D 5E (2014) Anyone started a custome campaign yet?

We started a campaign with spell jammer like ships. I presented the basic plot: Ten years ago a jammer crashed on the PC's planet without survivors. It took ten years to reverse engineer the vessel. The PC's are the first crew to venture into space. The players then created their world. We used...

    D&D 5E (2014) Sleep Spell 1st-Level, No-Save Death Spell?

Oh, ooops. Why did I think it was 3d6? Was that in the playtest?

    D&D 5E (2014) Sleep Spell 1st-Level, No-Save Death Spell?

Compare it to Magic Missile. If you hit a single target, the damage of Magic Missile is the same as the "damage" of Sleep, on average. But while Magic Missile deducts from the target's HP in any case, Sleep is an all or nothing affair. The advantage of Sleep is that you can indeed affect a...
