Help me think of a name for...my PC's horse

My Paladin's current horse is Peaches. I'm also fond of Fred.

    Prohibited magic spell schools?

When I play a specialist, it is usually a Diviner. They aren't terribly powerful, but it basically means I have a free Identify on hand when needed. I've never been a fan of the Enchantment school, so to loose it is no big deal to me.

What have you done on your dying turn?

We're fighting Hill Giants (conversion of G1), the fighter and my paladin are managing one of the entrances while the rest of the party is handling the other entrance. The fighter is reduced to 1 hit point and in the same round my paladin is reduced to 0 (staggered). For her final concious...

So how many settings came out of the Search?

Especially considering the fact that the submission that FFG did publish, Dawnforge, was surprisingly blah. Not a bad idea it just didn't have much spark, imho.

    Encounter Help

This is a really good idea. I think I may give this a shot. It has the additional bonus of directing the party off on another quest to release the ghost. The idea of a sarcastic ghost is also a rather entertaining thought.

    Dungeon Magazine #113 Is In

That next year when they release the deluxe map for $9.95, they are going to have some buyers. :\

    Encounter Help

I need some help coming up with a good series of encounters for my party. I'm going to have them investigating a "haunted" mansion but I'm not sure exactly what kind of encounters I should use. The party is only 2nd level, so actually having a ghost being the source of the haunting is out of...

    Dungeon Magazine #113 Is In

Well to begin with I look to Dungeon because I have very little time to work on my own adventures, so I like the convenience. That being said, issue 113 doesn't have much I can use "out of the box." I have no interest in Eberron so the map isn't much use to me and neither is the adventure...

    Dungeon Magazine #113 Is In

Well it looks like it's another issue that's going to go straight from the mailbox directly to the bookshelf. 2 months in a row of material I have no interest in. *sigh* At least issue 114 sounds promising.

    Renaming Real-World Nations...

Oops, you're right. It was a long day yesterday. Anyhow, here's what we use for the Balkans; Magyaria (Hungary) Transylvania Moldavia Wallachia Bulgaria Eastern Empire (Byzantine Empire) Basically broke the region up and used some traditional regional names (some are fairly recogniazable...

    Renaming Real-World Nations...

As I have a homebrew campaign world that is very much like this (the links in the .sig) here is what I came up with for names. If you want to know the rest of Europe, go to the page and take a look at the players guide, it's for 3.0 right now, but I'm in the process of rewriting a guide for...

My game has become "me vs. them"

The last campaign I gm'd I initially had this same feeling. The table I play at is extremely effective and they work very well together as a team. It doesn't take long, regardless of the party makeup, for us to work out tactics that work well. At first I got frustrated about it, but then I...

Do you have auditions for your gaming group?

I wish we did. Generally we have a well oiled machine, most of us having played together for at least 4 years (some much longer). However, we've recently added a few to the table simple because they are known by a couple of folks at the table and I've got some issues with that. Not so much...

How to believably deal with missing players??

One word - Dysentery. Sometimes Dire Dysentery or maybe even Legendary Dysentery, haven't yet seen a case of Axiomatic Dysentery.

The Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh - your experiences?

This thread has inspired me to use this series in my upcoming campaign. I actually have never had the opportunity to run or play in this series of adventures, though I've owned all three modules for some time. I'm now really looking forward to getting some use out of them. Hmmm... Maybe I'll...

    Subscribers receiving Dungeon 111?

I'm actually glad to hear that others are experiencing a late delivery. I just moved and was concerned that in the process I had lost the issue. Hopefully the delay will be minor and we will all have our issues shortly.

My daughter is named after my wife's first PC!

Some of my old gaming buddies believe that I named my son after my Cyberpunk character. Of course the reality is that my wife and I had already decided on that name for our son (who wasn't born for another 7 years). I really liked the name Joshua Michael and figured my, as yet unborn, son...

UPDATE on alignment warped campaign setting!

I'm really liking this idea, though I'm going to be running a Greyhawk campaign. Still a lot of really good ideas worth lifting for my own purposes.
