[Races of Stone] Mountain Plate - Typo?

And for the low, low price of a three level prestige class you too can be a dwarf! :D

[Races of Stone] Mountain Plate - Typo?

Yes, about half dozen psionic feats and new powers based upon the XPH. Not a whole lot, but it is nice to see continued support.

[Races of Stone] Mountain Plate - Typo?

Yes, but with dimensional slide and dimension door available to them a Psywar pretty much is a ranged weapon. :D Also if you get mithril then the armor only counts as normal heavy armor.

    Official Ruling- multiple False Lifes?

Actually the body feeder doesn't stack, its an example of overlap. From the SRD - Bodyfeeder: All feeder weapons have a special ability that functions only upon scoring a successful critical hit. A bodyfeeder weapon grants its wielder temporary hit points equal to the total damage dealt by a...

[Races of Stone] Mountain Plate - Typo?

They can be found in Races of Stone. As I mentioned its nice that they have made an armor thats the top of its type, gives precedence if other books include extremely heavy armor. I was looking at Mountain plate for my Psywar who can now used expansion to reach size huge along with its -4...

    Psychic Warrior vs. Fighter

The fighter continues to get better and better options as the books expand with more feats to optimize himself in ways that most other characters can't. This is could be the designers way of evening the playing field over time. The style and tactical feats are mostly fighter only with the...

[Races of Stone] Mountain Plate - Typo?

I just read it as "Okay here is the absolute most nusto heavy armor there is. A superheavy class armor." Basically anyone who wants to spend the feats can be looking into either Mithril Mountain plate or Battleplate + Dexterity item.

    Runesmith - Wizards in Fullplate

Just to add a bit, the big thing before was an Eldritch Knight build could have BAB 16 and Caster level 17 along with a few bonus feats for about 40hp less on average at 20th level than a fighter. A 20th level with 20 Con fighter is about 210, verus say 170 for a Fighter 2/Wizard 4/Runesmith...

    Ioun stones & more

The XPH still notes that a psionic manifester can get 1 power point out of a dull grey stone which then destroyed. If a stone has to fly to be used then I'd guess dull greys can fly. It doesn't however list a cost for them.

    Large Sword questions....

You can wield a large greatsword with monkeygrip to get the massive sword effect. Although if you have power attack just power attacking for 2 all the time is statistically better in most cases than using a large size greatsword over a medium sized one (extra d6 damage versus extra 4 damage)...

    Runesmith - Wizards in Fullplate

The Runesmith prestige class, from Races of Stone, can be entered into easily at 6th level with only one hard requirement for a dwarven wizard. Heavy armor proficiency. The first level grants the ability to cast all wizard spells without a somatic component. But requires an extra material...

    Help with Psionics

Actually it costs a bit more than just 3pp for Hustle and the Psionic Meditation feat to regain Psionic Focus. In combat you often take damage so you need to make a concentration check to manifest Hustle. Then Psionic Meditation only reduces the time for regaining focus to a move action, it...

    Ioun stones & more

Some DMs treat Ioun Stones as unattended items and fair game for area affect spells, means they don't last long....

    Help...Better Combat?

If you are changing roles from the party rogue to the party tank then you may want to change yourself. If you have a nice DM and are using the XPH you could find a Psion level 7+ to do several psychic reformations upon you. It will cost some amount of GP also XP if the caster doesn't want to...

    How Do You Determine HP?

My group uses roll dice, if you get 1/4 or under possible you can reroll as often as needed to get above that. It means d4 and d6 rerolls 1s. D8 and d10 on 2s. D12s get 3s. In some ways this is like the point buy versus rolling in keeping the party balanced with each other. If you have...

Bonus to Base attack as a Racial Trait

What about just giving all elves the weapon finesse feat for free? This synergizes nicely with the dexterity boost. If this isn't far enough give them the Weapon familiarity feat from the Complete Warrior, then all elves also have the Elven Thinblades instead of longswords. Most elves in...

    Possible revised Bull's Strength

Interesting change to the buffs. :) A mechanic that might also work is give back the duration of 1 hour/level, and for every "feat of strength" reduce the duration by an hour. The buff is then interesting to both empower(make bigger) or extend (more charges). Then people aren't tracking...

    Prestige Class Spell Progression

If your players are inclined to class dip I would try to avoid both +1 Caster level at level 1 and a nice new ability. But other than that spread out as much as possible, preferably with the main class abilities appearing on non caster levels. This seems to, or IMHO should be, fairly standard...

Suggestions for a character for a crazy player

Or what about the 3rd class from the Complete Divine, the Shugenja. They get a mix of cleric, druid and wizard spell lists already split into elements. Just make a new order thats all elements or use the Order of the Ineffable Mystery. Change them so they dont pick a main element, but instead...

    Psychic Warrior vs. Fighter

I would say that as a caster the first couple of levels of Psywar are reasonably pointless, you get very, very few power points and powers. On the other hand if you want it just for a couple of free feats from a very good list (fighter + psionic), then the Psywar is great. There is no...
