Collaborative Cave #2 - Updated map (see 1st post) - Now doing room assignment

I had an idea for the room that seemed interesting to me...it would have to partially tie in to other rooms in the complex, but I doubt that will be a problem. I like the way this sounds! We might need to add an overland map for this CC :)

Collaborative Cave #2 - Updated map (see 1st post) - Now doing room assignment

I wasn't really thinking that the house would be near pyramids - those were someone else's idea. I was thinking that the cellar (square of room 2) has a secret door opening into the water cave. Such a cellar would work just as well below a pyramid - or a smaller building near the pyramid - as...

Collaborative Cave #2 - Updated map (see 1st post) - Now doing room assignment

I imagine a house above the square area of Room 2 (the square area is the cellar), and the water hole in Room 1 is the village (or house) well.

Collaborative Cave #2 - Updated map (see 1st post) - Now doing room assignment

I'll take areas 2 and 15 (with preference on 15). Is there any reason there can't be a village - or even an isolated house - above the cave?

Star Wars: We Joined the Rebellion for This?!

"We've earned ourselves a breather, but we don't want to sit tight for too long. We need to pick up the trail on our anonymous friend somehow. What are your thoughts on our next move, everyone?" Karr muses, then takes a sip from his ale. "Not bad at all."

    Vulgar language in fantasy

Actually, as I understand it, it depends on the language. For instance, I recall reading that French cursing from the late 1800s and early 1900s centered around references to Christian symbols, not around copulation and excretion.

Star Wars: We Joined the Rebellion for This?!

As the speeder zoomed away from the battle site, Karr replied "Good thinking, Rath. Hive of scum and villainy that it is, Mos Eisley will allow us to disassociate ourselves from the unpleasantness here."

    Houseruling Raise Dead spells

How common is it that people house-rule the Raise Dead type spells? A friend of mine is starting a campaign soon, and he's making a house rule that only Clerics with the Death domain (which PC clerics may not take) may cast Raise Dead because, according to him, PCs won't take death seriously...

Star Wars: We Joined the Rebellion for This?! OOC

Anchorhead or Mos Eisley both sound okay. Maybe we could pick up some information on disgrunted Imperial officials.

    Civ IV: Beyond the Sword...

I'll second Mercule's "why"? I picked up a copy of C3C about two years ago, and it's been a bigger timesink than anything since Diablo II or maybe even Starcraft. What in Civ 3 annoyed you, Grump?

Star Wars: We Joined the Rebellion for This?! OOC

Where should we go next? I really have no clue - the only things I can think of are Bestine (only to get arrested and executed by the stormtroopers) or Mos Eisley (not promising if we're looking for Imperial contacts). What does everyone else think?

    Ahhhhhh, stop typing that!

One thing that really annoys me is when people use "frex" when they mean "e.g." Even more annoying is when they use that awful construct to replace "i.e."

Star Wars: We Joined the Rebellion for This?!

"Good call, Rath. We'd best move out ASAP." Karr hops into the speeder with his teammates. OOC: What rank does Rath hold?

Collaborative Cave #2 - Updated map (see 1st post) - Now doing room assignment

Woohoo! These are fun. I'll sign up for a room or two. Ideas for the "cave": * Instead of a traditional cave, how about a giant tree? Each "room" is a branch higher on the tree. Walkways strung between branches could be severed, and swing ropes and flight spells would be very handy - along...

    Paladin's Detect Evil

I was looking at the Paladin class recently, and it hit me that they gain Detect Evil at will, as the spell - which is similar to Detect Magic: Standard action to cast, then a standard action again in the second and third rounds in order to gain complete information. That doesn't mesh with how...

Star Wars: We Joined the Rebellion for This?!

Karr holds out a hand to the Commander for a couple of explosive charges. "Where shall I set these?"

    WoTC products, going downhill?

They may use the same content in the (IMO rubbish) online system they're setting up to replace the D&D magazines. They may also try to apply the names of the magazines to the online system. However, that doesn't change the fact that the magazines were canceled. Remember: Pay website != magazine!

    Page Titles

Bump. A response would be nice, even if it's "We don't have time to be/care about implementing this."

Star Wars: We Joined the Rebellion for This?!

Peering at the walker through his electrobinoculars, Karr cursed softly. "An AT-ST and at least eight stormtroopers. Let's hurry, people!" Karr looks at the woman who came out from the entrance. "Commander? We're at your disposal."

Star Wars: We Joined the Rebellion for This?!

Karr nods at the woman leading the Rebel forces out of the cave. "That's right. It looks like we have other things to worry about, though." Karr retrieves his electrobinoculars and turns them on the terrain that Issachar indicated.
