    New Quickling

Personally I don't see why they need daggers. With feet and teeth like that, a quickling could easily shred somebody while running past at blazing speed. Ouch!

    New Quickling

I was very impressed by the art direction for the new Quickling in "Worlds and Monsters". Certainly it surprised me. Very different from the "tiny elf on crack" that was expected. It was so inspiring that I whipped up a piece of fan art for the new critter. So, what does everyone think about...

What do you think about The Rouse's shirt?

The new cover for the PHB should have heroes fighting a monster in the shirt Scott is wearing. After all, we're going to see clips of him wearing the thing for weeks. It's going to become practically synonomous with 4E! :D

To what degree is the Realms still Greenwood's?

This type of view really gets me angry. Not everyone is a good writer. And just because someone enjoys their work doesn't make them good either. Writing is a skill, just like art is a skill, just like building a bridge is a skill. Ed Greenwood publishes books and is a very skilled world...

    Large PC races

Good point! I should check that out. P.S. I've love Minotaurs for years, but I never could get into playing a Tauren. Made a couple of them, but never got past lvl 6-8.

    Large PC races

From what we've been told, monster abilities will no longer be tied to spells in the PHB. They will be unique effects.

I really really really hope the new MM has rules to play a Minotaur at lvl 1. Really really.

D&D 4E The Rouse revels that the writers stike will delay 4E!

Sorry. I have friends that live in Houston and we joke about it all the time. But the way it came out in written form is WAY more offensive than it sounds joking around in RL. I went back and read it what I wrote and was like, "Woah! That sounds like some sort of crazed hate-mongering"

D&D 4E The Rouse revels that the writers stike will delay 4E!

You're right Darkwolf. It was a really dumb and rude thing to say, and I shouldn't have said it. I hope you will accept my humble appology. *foot in mouth*

    Chris Sims on the FRCG

Poor Szass.... all that sceming and 100 years later he still hasn't accomplished anything. Hehe. And they say fighters are underpowered. Those guys seem to conquer new kingdoms all the time! Poor little wizards seem to just be the punching bags. :D

Worlds & Monsters -- I has it, too!

Was there any mention of what they've done with orcs? We've had both the LotR's movies and WoW since the time 3E was first released. Plus in the latest Drizzt novel they were trying to take orcs in a whole new direction. I'm very curious to see how these new strong influences regarding orcs...

    Chris Sims on the FRCG

I'm most interested in hearing what has happened with Szass Tam, but I doubt we will since they want to save that for the novels.

Worlds & Monsters -- I has it, too!

Did the book mention anything about planar adventures at low level play? I like the idea of starting out a lvl 1 campaign in the Feywild or the City of Brass, but I wonder if these locations will be strictly Paragon+ in their concept.

Worlds & Monsters -- I has it, too!

    1. I'm interested to hear how the City of Brass fits into things. I used it extensively in 3E, but I had to do a lot of finageling to make it playable for characters. 2. The ToEE was cool, but it's just one dungeon. Are they dropping it into all worlds? Or has it been expanded in some way? I've...

D&D 4E The Rouse revels that the writers stike will delay 4E!

No offense or anything, but no Texan I know considers Houston to be part of Texas. It's like a seething blight and isn't even remotely anything like the rest of the state. In fact, people in Houston don't even like each other. They won't even look you in the eye! I had to live in Houston for...

It's seems very reasonable to me. The item is "magical" so, let's say it is capable of performing 'feats of great strength' but will not aid it's wielder in battle. Mythical items usually have all kinds of restrictions on when they will function. I hate it when magic items are just like...

I think making everything more expensive is a mistake. Instead make it not so universally wanted. For instance, a girdle of giant strength could give you the abilty 3/day to make a str check as if you had a 25 str. That would be very cool & thematic without screwing up your combat balance.

Now that's the kind of things I hope these new versions of the old standards do. Agreed!

Wow. That would be so boring and lame I would just cry. Items that add + to numbers are the dullest thing ever invented. Please, please, please let them do something more original than that...
