That's up there with the time I was working at a mall music store and got called out for playing an EP by the techo band A Split Second. Seems that the distorted vocals was singing the praises of sodomy! We had only played it ten or twenty times!

    True 20 Experts book

I haven't picked up either the Expert or Adept book, and doubt that I will. The issue I have with character-focused books is that it is more work for the GM to figure out which new feats/powers/alt rules he/she will allow in their particular game. And this is on top of all the additional...

    Reaper Minis?

Prices at Reaper have gone up twice in the past year, due to the high demand for tin from China. While I can't speak as an insider, Reaper has the appearance of continuing to do well as a company, having the money to develop their new plastic product line, introduce a new "modern" line of...

What do you make and what do you do?

Corporate librarian with a telecom manufacturer. Others in my gaming group include an IT director, municipal planner, city water department worker and a state bureaucrat. I make enough so my wife can stay home with the kids and still afford a modest home.

Not full class outlines, but additional druid abilities appeared in the Companion book. This should appear in the Revised edition as well.

Opinions, please! Is this forum valuable to you as a separate forum?

I like the separate-ness of the OGL/ PF form from General. I think the bigger problem is General - you can look through many of the threads and see that some of them might fit elsewhere on the site better. Besides, isn't the 4E Forum going to eventually become the General forum?

    level 3!

Thanks everyone! And to think I made it this far with only posting a half-dozen times over in the Hive! :P I just take the slow and easy route, bouncing between different parts of the site, contributing and learning where I can.

RPG Book Club (Now with contest!!)

How's about that Freeport setting book that came out last year that was rules-free? I've read plenty of Freeport adventures but never the setting book. By the way...BOOO-YAAAA With this post I'm officially second level! :D

So there's a box from Amazon on the step...

I think the "marketing" idea behind the new starter set is to come in at a lower price point, affordable to a younger market. Besides, if you look at the starter set that came with Wardrums, the quick-start rules teach you the basics of the game using only two minis.

possibly looking for a new system - need recommendations!

Some additional things about True20 you might like: * No XP: GM tells the players when they level up, usually at the completion of an adventure. I love this because it provides down time for the players to develop a new skill or feat. It also lessens the mindset among players that they have...

Iron Man Director Jon Favreau credits his success to D&D

I thought this was an interesting part of the article, addressing how to prep for a game as much as it was making a big-budget movie: Drive the story to the really cool encounters rather than letting the players hap-hazardly find them.

    Best Organized Adventure?

Eric, I totally agree with your first two, but not so much on the third. I love DCCs because they are relatively easy to run. They read exactly like you'd probably run them - text that should be read aloud is set apart and italicized. Some additional tactics thrown in right after the...
