Playtest (A5E) Level Up Playtest Document #17: Journeys

I think 24 miles a day are highly unrealistic for „normal“ speed, especially in armor. I remember that AD&D stated about 20 kilometers, and that’s about okay. 20-25km are manageable, that’s about 12-15 miles. That’s also what you find when googling for hiking distances. 24 miles are doable...

Candlekeep Mysteries Review Round-Up – What the Critics Say

I’m surprised that no reviewer mentioned that alignments are left out of stat blocks. I personally don’t like alignments anyway, so that’s a good one. Plus, I like that the Stats now include the proficiency bonus!

    2d20 Achtung! Cthulhu Is Here

The rules on the momentum pool are not clear in the QS. I wish they’d specify that there is only one momentum pool for the whole party, or that each character has its own momentum pool. It mostly reads like the former is the case, but in the section on bonus momentum it says it „cannot be saved...

    2d20 Achtung! Cthulhu Is Here

Downloaded the QS, liked it, but the editing is a little lacking :-/ Both spelling and grammar wise, but also in read aloud text like this: „...as a huge roll of thunder erupts overhead, followed quickly by a bright lightning strike.“ last time I checked, light was faster than sound ;)

Playtest (A5E) Level Up Advanced 5E Playtest Document #9: Warlord

I agree, skipping your own attack so that someone else can attack might come in handy sometimes, but doesn’t strike me as an interesting class feature.

Official News Let’s Look At Exploration in Level Up

I assumed as much. Exhaustion is one of the rules I use too rarely for my taste, mostly because it is only loosely tied to other rules. So I’m looking forward to a new system here, especially if connected to the safe house rules! And for resolve rules, I’m excited to see these :)

Official News Let’s Look At Exploration in Level Up

I‘m loving this so far! One thing I missed apparently is fatigue and resolve. How is it defined in A5e?

The pose of the guy holding the rope (the half-orc?) looks wrong. Shouldn’t he be leaning backwards?

Interviewing Owen KC Stephens Green Ronin’s Fantasy AGE

I like a lot about the AGE system, especially about Modern AGE. Fantasy AGE, however, always seemed to lack something. I find the class options not very inspired, and the specialisations dont give me a „cool, I get this amazing effect!“ vibe. plus classes and specialisations should have their...

News Digest: Shadowrun 30th Anniversary Products, New Star Trek Adventures Products, #DnDSelfie, New

The Shadowrun dice are pretty nice :) I just don’t get why they didn’t leave the 2, 3 and 4 blank as they are not needed at all in the game‘s current edition. And they should have dropped the numbers 5 and 6 as well, just displaying the S-icons for success. My guess is that they left it for...

    Bree-Land Region Guide: A Review

Agreed! After the movies came out there was a game called „LotR - the 4th Age“ that set the story in that time. It was a pretty good game, essentially a d20 game played with 2d6. Unfortunately the only time I ran it was the worst session I ever played, but it was totally my fault. One of those...
