    The "No-Flame-War" Pledge

I, mudbunny, pledge to not make ENWorld's forums (or any other forums for that matter) a hellscape of flame wars. I will respect my fellow posters and will not dismiss their opinions out of hand because they're on "Team 4E" or "Team Pathfinder" or "Team 5E" or any other "side" they may have...

    Dragon magazine

Previosly, when they were compiled, the articles were compiled prior to the month beginning. Pagination and everything was already done, as was a table of contents (including page numbers). Then, once the articles were posted to the web, people inevitable found errors in the article. These...

    Dragon magazine

The errata that they do to the magazines is much more frequent than the errata that they do to the rest of the rules. The magazine errata is done every month, last I was informed. By not having it tied to a compiled magazine, they can do it automatically to the pdf and not have to worry about...

The Guards at the Gate Quote

Just to jump off of that point... Why do people not ascribe the same thing to Wyatt?? I think that it is very clear (to me at least) that throughout the rest of the chapter (and book) that the philosophy that they are espousing is "pick encounters that are fun for your players. Ignore things...

    Dragon magazine

thejester I will be passing this up to WotC. It has been a couple of months and there has been some changes in the D&D hierarchy, so things may change. Edit to add - Last time this came up on the WotC forums (I want to say 6-10 months ago) it was mentioned by WotC (don't remember who) that...

4 Hours w/ RSD - Escapist Bonus Column

This thread popped up on my radar too late to include it in the last report I made to WotC, but it will get included in the next report. My reports go to Trevor Kidd, head of Community Management, and he compiles them and they get sent to the appropriate people. While I can't guarantee that M&M...

New to GMing, over my head (WoD)

You should look into the Dresden Files RPG for a nice way to pull together a whole bunch of ideas for people, places and plots that you can drop down and flesh out.

D&D 5E (2014) What big thing is supposed to be next week?

There is already pretty good integration. Characters and monsters can be imported from the CB and AT, and the VT has a crapton (I want to say 50, but I may be mistaken on the number) of slots that you can use for characters that are separate from your CB slots. Also, have I mentioned that...

D&D 5E (2014) What big thing is supposed to be next week?

This is one of those things where we pay to not have it displayed as the ENWorld background, isn't it??

Rejection for DDI article isn't so bad

I will poke WotC to see if I can get you answers.

The Escapist on D&D Past, Present, and Future

Can we not start this argument...again...for the umpteenth time?? Lets just leave it at the following: The passage in question can be interpreted a number of different ways, and discussion of those ways has never, ever resulted in anything other than eventual mod-text in the thread.

Why Aren't RPGs in Public Libraries?

It all depends on how familiar people doing the ordering at the libraries are with RPGs. If they know nothing of RPGs, they would not order the books. They also order the books that people request. If a bunch of people request a certain book (or style of books) they are more likely to order them.

    Dear Mike & Monte

The holidays kept me away from the internet in general, but I did see it thanks to your mention of me, so it will be going in this weeks report. I want to thank everyone for keeping it friendly and well-written. No (or at least not too many) accusations of "your liking this is wrong" make it...

Is A Vampiric Dragonwere Giant A Compelling Monster?

Change it from vampiric to simply "needing the blood to be used in a ritual" then you get the same effect, plus you have this nifty-cool fountain of youth ritual that can be used to introduce all sorts of interesting (in the chinese curse use of the word) for the players.

Non-DDI subscribers getting access to VT

Make sure that java is fully updated. Also, try uninstalling Silverlight, and then reinstalling it, making sure that all antivirus software has been turned off or disabled. That really does bad things to the installation, and doesn't give any indication until you try to run the VT.

    Threads being marked as read

When I logged in this morning, I noticed that in the forums I frequent, all of the threads had been marked as read, even ones that I had never, ever read before. Is this part of the de-slowifying of ENWorld?

Non-DDI subscribers getting access to VT

Awesome! I don't know how long the codes are good for once created/activated. When they used to have codes for using it, they lasted for 24 hours. Note that non-subscribers won't, through this code, be given access to the CB or stuff like that. If they want to put in a character, the best bet...

Is A Vampiric Dragonwere Giant A Compelling Monster?

This. The title makes it seem like just template piled on template piled on template. But the text makes it sound awesome.

Non-DDI subscribers getting access to VT

So it appears that it is now live, or at the very least the code that gives out the codes has been pushed to the webpage. Here is a quick primer on how to get the codes: Log into your DDI account. Head to http://vt.wizards.com/ Click on the "code" tab. Click on Create a new code. Page will...

    WotC's Annual Xmas Layoffs

But do you know if Greg Leeds' salary/benefits are so significantly higher than those of Steve and Rich that they would have a substantial effect were he to cut them? As mentioned upthread, WotC has been doing layoffs like this for quite a few years, since well before Greg Leeds entered the...
