He can't actually go in and edit your character, so it can't be simply switched out. I edited mine, and intend to buy it from Morrus, in my case I changed the abilities one step upwards becuase I didn't want to do all that hard work only to need a better set of armor in a few levels...

Yeah, it determines a price in the toolset based upon abilities. This will change depending on what vendor you give it to due to markup, or since it's customized for me you could just trade it 2 me for gold. Edit: You can adjust price in toolset also if you feel it's not enough
