    Halo 3

Super quick question as I haven't bought it yet... Is there an option to do two player split screen with the split vertically. On Halo2 and using a wide screen monitor the horizontal split was like playing through a letter box. When you have two people sat on a couch then having the two splits...

    Stumped: Why Can't I Burn?

Its because you posted to a forum. It has the same effect as when somebody watches you when you do any kind of demo that was just previously running perfectly...

    Protecting folders?

Some questions that you need to ask yourself rather than reply. Is the NTFS partition large enough to hold your user data from the fat partition. Is the fat one the OS ? Is it more important to be comfortable with fat or more important to have the security of NTFS. If the OS is on FAT then I...

    Protecting folders?

Ahh, then I don't know. Sorry Ferret ! I kinda remember that the home editions didn't have the more complex security features and maybe Vista has done away with them. I always thought it odd that home users were denied security... Hopefully somebody with more Vista specific knowledge will post.

    Protecting folders?

OK, well you don't need any 3rd party / encryption software for this unless the sort of users you have might be those black hat hacker types or your plans for world domination might get you banged up in gitmo :) I'm going to write from the experience of XP but Im sure its similar in Vista...

    Protecting folders?

Hi Ferret, Are you wanting to protect your folders from being accidentally deleted by yourself by using another of your user names or are the folders not owned by any user name you have access to ? The way it reads though is that you want to add permissions for stuff in other peoples user...

    [The Le] comics-to-film reviews

Nice list Le. Im with The Merciful on Judge Dredd though. As a big fan I disliked the film immensely. I also disagree entirely with Tank Girl. Though I haven't read the comics I did enjoy the film in its zany / quirky style. Did I say entirely ??? Well I do agree that Naomi Watts was indeed...

My attempt at the dipping technique

This is a great thread Kris. I haven't painted miniatures for years and I want to have a go now !! I am stunned at how good they come out given the basic paint job before hand. Anyway, on the camera topic, have you or anyone else tried to take photos top down to use in the digital aids ? I know...

Setting up a home wireless network - what do I need?

Sure, WPA(2) is better than WEP. I'll buy that. But I was under the impression that no wifi protocol was completely secure. Its just down to how long it takes to break it. I understand that breaking WEP is now in the seconds tho. Its a poor choice if your concerned about being secure. Theres...

Setting up a home wireless network - what do I need?

I second that a netgear router is worth a few extra cents vs the sweat from other makes. You might just have to check your PC to see what spare internal sockets it has. Most are either PCI or PCIe. The PCIe ones would probably have short - say 1" type of connector often dark brown and the old...

Sprites / Objects for Mapping Tools?

Would just like to know what are those limitations you are referring to ? I can understand that a photo editor has less limits in some respects but has more in others and it can be a lot slower too so there must be some features that are important to you that you currently do not have in your...

    Here's a tool that I use a lot:

Let me just explain it a bit for you acon. We here love the game. Myself and many other people here are developers of applications to help play the game. Our aim is to make the game easier to play and more enjoyable for ourselves and everyone. Ripping off somebody who takes time to develop an...

    Making Modules Easier to Use

I'm a little confused by your post - let me see if I can explain a few things. Basically the VTTs try to emulate the way you play the paper and pen game. Nothing automatically happens unless you ask for it. There is still a DM in the loop and must move monsters from room B to A and he decides...

    Making Modules Easier to Use

You guys are talking about having information on the map. This thread has been linked into from the digital RPG tools threads which are running discussions along similar lines. Theres a lot of work being done especially in the online virtual table top (VTT) apps that do all this stuff. You can...
