    D&D 5E (2014) Magic Items?

Hammers of Justice requires attunement These steel gauntlets are nearly an inch thick at almost every point, yet permit movement just as free as an unclad hand. While wearing these, a characters unarmed strike damage becomes 1d6 Bludgeoning, and their unarmed strikes count as light weapons for...

    D&D 5E (2014) Magic Items?

What does Zephynder do? It'd be nice to get some perspective.

D&D 5E (2014) Wall of Force / Forcecage -- Once More Into the Breach

Those sound pretty good to me, but I'm biased against both of those spells anyways. I throw heavy objects at anyone who uses them, be they player or DM, until they've been knocked unconscious and can be safely removed from the gaming group before their wickedness spreads.

D&D 5E (2014) Halving the natural healing rate?

All HP are returned by a long rest, and PCs get half HD back. Pg 186, under Long Rest in the PHB Not getting any HP and only getting HD is a DMG variant from Pg. 267, Slow Natural Healing. However, HD can be spent during a Long Rest, so players can spend them as they get'em. Honestly, if...

    D&D 5E (2014) Please understand your spells

Trust me. Everything is a competitive sport for the people trying hard enough. 'You call that breathing? THIS IS HOW YOU BREATH TO WIN!'

D&D 5E (2014) What are the "important" saves?

Save importance depends entirely on the difficulty, frequency and consequences of the saves, and the DM can make up or select for any of those conditions. However, the 3 saves mentioned above do come more frequently than Strength, Intelligence or Charisma. Even though Int and Cha saves tend to...

D&D 5E (2014) Simple Weapons as Spellcasting Foci...

It will break little in the grand scheme of things. And really, who wants to play a wizard if they can't bonk NPCs on the head with a stick.

D&D 5E (2014) Mislead spell and illusion disbelieve

I haven't been around long to answer that question, but maybe everybody else just doesn't bother casting that spell.

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana March 2016 Review

Pffft. If having to give up UAs that people complained about is the price for community interaction, then give us UAs so we can complain about how terrible they are!

D&D 5E (2014) Mislead spell and illusion disbelieve

I doubt a spell called Mislead would reveal itself as soon as a person looked at it. That wouldn't be very misleading at all. Unless the name of spell refers to how misleading the spell text is... Anyhow, running it as a sight and sound type illusion would probably work out fine, and if it...

    D&D 5E (2014) Strahd is not a typical vampire

    D&D 5E (2014) Strahd is not a typical vampire

That might be true AaronOfBarbaria, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't get mentioned anywhere in the MM or DMG that making standard monsters unique is encouraged or even ok. Which means that anybody who learns most of their DMing skills in the 5E era is going to wind up disagreeing with you no...

D&D 5E (2014) How do you keep your players going from "goblins to gods" in your games?

Just set the party on fire and blindfold them. Then have them fight more goblins. Remember, you're going to need specialist blindfolding and setting on fire goblins to deal with the Wizard spells 'remove blindfold' and 'stop being on fire' in order to whittle down the party's resources.

    D&D 5E (2014) Ravenloft souls

For the people who actually live there it's pretty terrifying to think you've grown up surrounded by creatures that exist only at the whim of a mad immortal dictator, but for visitors the main trouble is the paranoia that comes with it. If the population is created by Strahds mind, then most...

    D&D 5E (2014) Test of High Level 5E: Design 4 or 5 lvl 13 PCs for 6 to 8 encounter adventuring day

Thanks to Siege Monster, a tarrasque fits through every door. Given that the intent of the encounter is to use player resources and the players would be presumed to be combat lovers, I'd probably give some temporary combat condition, such Frightened or Surprised, to one or more of the...

D&D 5E (2014) Wall of Force / Forcecage House Rules

Yay! Kill the Force! Spells. Kill the Force based trapping spells. Don't kill Star Wars, I have too much nostalgia to let that particular series go.
