    Cleric Optimized For Healing

Yes, you're overlooking the Melora’s Tide feat. Also, you're level one. You have one Encounter and one Daily power. You'll get more and some of them are very good. Oh, and Healers Lore works with Beacon of Hope for each ally.

PC Lifeplanner Spreadsheet - damage/defense statistics

Splart, your work here is both very impressive and completely flawed. The spreadsheet you’ve created looks like it could be a very useful tool, but the data you’ve put into it and the conclusions your charts show are worthless. The core of the problem is this: Spamming your At Will powers is a...

    Dailies vs. Encounters vs. At-Wills

I have a fairly mathmatical system for it: I assume that the combat will take 6 rounds. I assume that you will use your dailys every 4th fight. If you have 2 At Will, 1 Encounter and 1 Daily it's: Best At Will x 4.75 + Encounter + Daily x 0.25 If you have 2 At Will, 4 Encounter and 4 Daily...

Hawk's Talon vs Spikes of the Manticore

Oh no you did that ALL wrong. Using the same assuptions that you've made (+7 to damage, 50% hit chance, 1D10 damage weapon) it's: 18 damage average for Hawk’s Talon at 70% chance to hit. 2 x 15.25 damage average for Spikes of the Manticore at 50% chance to hit. So... Hawk’s Talon = 12.6 DPR...

DM advise for an all-striker party?

I would recommend a somewhat different tactic to those suggested above. Use normal encounters but have the monsters split up their damage over all the players. This in my opinion is the only way to make up for the lack of a balanced party.

This is a rules clarification forum. It's very purpose is to discuss the finer points of some less than clear rules.

Forked Thread: Can defenders do too good of a job? ...from Healing Potions seem odd

Well look at it this way: A 16 Con Dragonborn Fighter has 31 HP, 12 Surges and 10 HP per Surge = 151 HP per day. A 12 Con Elf Ranger has 24 HP, 7 Surges and 6 HP per Surge = 66 HP per day. Logically the Fighter should be taking 2.3 times more damage than the Ranger. Also, the Fighter has an AC...

Forked Thread: Can defenders do too good of a job? ...from Healing Potions seem odd

The Defender certainly should not be tanking everything. For a start they should be tanking the monsters that attack Armor Class and Fort and ignoring the ones that attack Reflex and Will.

    Bolstering Blood + Blood Pulse

Even without the sillyness of Blood Pulse you can do crazy things with Bolstering Blood, like use it on a persistant, mobile AoE like Stinking Cloud. 2D10 X number of enemies you can move the area onto X number of rounds.

    Bolstering Blood + Blood Pulse

Bolstering Blood reads "When the power you use damages a target, you deal extra psychic damage..." and Blood Pulse reads "...the target takes 1d6 damage for every square it leaves." So does that mean that the target takes the Bolstering Blood's extra damage for every square it leaves...

Thanks Komi you're a champion. It's stuff like this that brought me to this forum in the first place.

    Warlock, Shadow Walk and Stealth

Moving more than 2 squares gives a -5 to stealth checks, I suggest you read the skill in the PHB. Also, unless he was stealthed during the move monsters will know which square he is in and can attack it without penalty using burst, blast, and area attacks. Finally, Steath is an opposed roll so...

Hit Probability is a Slippery Slope

The AC of monsters is on average 2 to 3 higher than their other defenses, especially if you're attacking the right stat for the monster type (i.e. don't attack the Fort of Brutes). This evens out weapon profeciency very nicely.

    Melora's Tide + Healer's Lore

It's your game, and if it's breaking it then you should certainly ban it. That's the DM's job after all, to keep things fun instead of letting them get ridiculous. I would rule that it does not apply because it is not a Cleric power. However I would add Healers lore to every tick of...

Dual nature of all classes - except Ranger and Rogue.

That's certainly true at first but does not remain so at higher levels. Fighters get a number of stances as they level up that greatly boost their damage by giving them a sustained damage boost that lasts the whole fight (there are 4 daily powers that do this). So while Rogues and Rangers will...

official revision to skill challenge system

There's actually a whole host of stat bonuses that line up with skill bonuses, but you're right I didn't count the +3 from Skill Focus. If you're interested, here's the races that can hit +19 at level 1: Dragonborn - Intimidate Dwarf - Endurance Eladrin - Arcana and History Elf - Perception...

Hunger of Hadar - Warlock Attack 5

When you sustain Hunger of Hadar, it doesn't say "The Zone Persists" as many powers do, but it's sustain effect is dependant on the zone being there. Does the zone persist? If so does it continue to do the 2D10 damage?
