Re: Re: [3.5] Enormous number of changes - some make me wonder why... It used to be that your own protective spells wouldn't work in the globes, if they fell under the levels for suppression, ie Protection from Arrows wouldn't work in a Minor Globe (Lesser Globe, now). All of your...

    D&D 3.x [3.5]Weapon Finesse & Double Weapons

When using Weapon Finesse, since the feat now applies to any weapon that qualifies, do you get to use your Dex modifier for the secondary attack with a double weapon, since that qualifies as a light weapon? TwoWeapon fighting (p160) states that the penalites apply as if the off-hand end of the...

    D&D 3.x [3.5] Lightning Bolt?

You pick your target, and draw a line between you and it; any square that the line passes through on it's way to the target is included in it's effect. p176 of the new book has a line diagram, with lightning bolt as it's example.

    D&D 3.x [3.5] Weapon size and use

Based on this link: http://www.gamingreport.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Diner_Wrapper&file=index&req=ShowFile&file_wrap=html/dd17.htm it would seem that it's a -2 per size difference. Check under the weapon variances.

    Exotic and interesting customs

Nothing all that exciting, but in the new Ghostwalk campaign I'm in, my character is from Bezzarene (spelling?), and I've decided that the writing customs of that land dictate that the first word after punctuation is capitalized, Like this. I don't know why I did it, It just seemed interesting...

Are all the Forgotten Realms people going to GenCon?

The only ones i know of for sure are Rich and Ed. I'm pretty sure Troy and Elaine are going to be there, but it's been a while since I've actually checked to see who's going...

Did anyone else notice that BBB has 1000 pages? And that it doesn't say that it's one spell per page?

[3.5] Archmages Affected, Spell Power Clarified!

The Heirophant did have the benefit of not losing any spell slots, however. When you permanently give up a spell slot to have an ability, that is a painful loss... [edit: spelling]

"Party Funds" -- yay or nay?

We've done it that way, and we've also done it that everyone gets a share, and whatever wasn't distributed evenly got thrown into party treasure. We'd then pay for inns, etc out of party treasure, since that's about all we could afford with it. :)

[3.5] Cleric Spell LIst Changes Summary!!

I don't suppose that they've broken the cleric spells (and druid/paladin,etc spells) down by class, like they did for the Wiz/Sorc spells, did they? It's always annoyed me that they didn't do that, when the focus feats are available for every spellcaster...

Fei'ri should gain a Cha Bonus?

Need? No. Would it be useful? Yes. However, fey'ri are, at this point, a true race; you could, of course, create a variant based on the drow. I'd use a different set of powers, though.

    Please rate Subdual Substitution

I see it as average; it doesn't cost any penalty to the spell to use it (no additional levels), but in a combat situation, most of thetime you're looking to completely defeat your opponents, not take prisoners. Still, for those times you need prisoners, it's invaluable. Plus, it's less fatal...

How Many Spells On One Scroll?

By the rules, it's 1 spell per scroll, 1 scroll per day. My house rule is: 1 spell per scroll per caster level. Thus, a 3rd level caster could put no more than 3 spells onto a scroll. Hasn't even really come up in my campaign yet, but it seems pretty reasonable to me. I've thought about...

    Detect Magic and spellcasters

[/b] Creating a scroll (or any other magical item) requires a) a feat (knowledge of how to put magic into a piece of parchment) b) an expenditure of XP (the magic placed in the parchement) c) money (the quality materials required to do it properly) Creating a spellbook requires only c. That...

    Joys of WoTC retail store

Well, there's always Underworld in Ann Arbor, the Fortress in Lansing, or Red Dragon in Otisville (up by Flint). None of them are local for Detroit, really, but they're all good stores. Especially Red Dragon. Mickey (the owner/operator) is a little weird and flaky, but she's reliable...

How do you guys do Hps? And why?

Campaign I play in: Roll twice, take best. Very lethal campaign, running City of the Spider Queen. We've needed the HP. Campaign I run: Single roll, hope for the best. Not as lethal. I haven't been doing much in the way to customize opponents, though that's starting to change...
