    Suggest Thread Moves?

I've noticed a lot of threads in RPG General that are discussing rules of a specific system and would be better off in their respective edition forum. I normally wouldn't care one way or another, but the edition specific threads in general seem to become prime targets for thread crapping and...

What makes a permanent grid on white board? Help needed with homemade "tac-tiles"

That sounds almost like Liquid Leading, a specialty paint used to make faux stained glass. It comes in black, silver, and gold, and leaves a distinct bead to simulate the leading you would find in real stained glass. But I've never seen it in blue

What makes a permanent grid on white board? Help needed with homemade "tac-tiles"

You could use black tape, office supply stores sell 1/16" wide black tape for a few dollars a roll, and you can find narrower widths in specialty art stores. I found lots by Google searching for black 1/16 tape and black 1/32 tape. Can you provide some more info on the tiles you've found? I...

How do you store your Dungeon Tiles?

I've got mine in a large expanding file (usually for scrap booking supplies), but I'm not happy with it. I've been trying to find a hard case of some sort, preferably one with a couple of sections of various sizes so I can sort the tiles out some.

    Death of the LGS

I've worked in the retail industry for well over a decade. This statement alone tells me something important about your business - your customers don't value the additional services you offer enough to balance the price difference. If you can't compete on price, you have to find something that...

Out of Print games You Miss...

Marvel FASERIP (had a blast rationalizing random powers) Millennium's End (I just loved the overlay system) DC Heroes (once you figured out the system you could build just about anything)

Once per day non-magical effects destroy suspension of disbelief

Over the last several weeks, I've seen a lot of people complaining about this or that aspect of 4e not fitting their personal preferences or campaign style, and saying that is a problem with 4e. 4e, just like 3.x, GURPS, HERO, and all other RPG systems, is nothing but a set of tools to assist...

    Old Master Bug List.

On the subscribed threads page, I'm getting distorted icons (see the attached screenshot). IE 6.0 SP2 on Win XP Pro

Is the Summer Camp Completely Gone?

Is the EN World Summer Camp completely gone? I couldn't find it any more on CM (and my post count doesn't include my summer camp posts), but I also don't see it here. Are there any plans to import it over to ENW2 once things from the upgrade setting down?

    4e D&D GSL Live

And according to the 11.2 Survival portion, section 10 remains in force after the termination of the license, so if you accept the license you will always be required to be a contracted, occasionally paid snitch. With the long lasting ramification of the license, and the number of things that...

    Tac-Tiles: Gone for good?

Seconded. I made the mistake of waiting to see them in person, and by then it was too late. :( I'd gladly preorder a set to encourage production.

When do Dragon and Dungeon go subscriber-only?

Did they release the PDFs of any of the previous issues? Edit: I see the links for the complete PDF of Dragon #360, but not any of the other Dragon issues or any of the Dungeon issues.

When do Dragon and Dungeon go subscriber-only?

I thought they were going to release a consolidated PDF of each issue once the issue's content had all trickled out, but I couldn't find them on the site. Was I mistaken, or am I just blind?

    Mike Mearls On the OGL

It sounds like what is really required for Open Gaming to become a movement like Open Source would be for an independant third party to establish a new license designed for broad use and not tied to any particular product or company. This could fall under an organization like GAMA, or it could...

    Mike Mearls On the OGL

I think it is because the SRD is the intellectual property of WotC, and only they have the right to modify it and still call it the SRD. The OGL just gave others the right to use the SRD in their products. Since only WotC has the authority to make changes to the SRD, other companies not making...

    Mike Mearls On the OGL

I thought the entire point of the OGL was for publishing d20 system products and derivitives, why would someone use the OGL for something non-d20 when the primary benefit of the OGL was access to using the d20 system in your product? If you want to open source a non-d20 product, you would be...

    Coolest. Gaming Set-up. Evar.

One way you can increase the throw is to mount the projector either up high horizontally or off to the side pointing up and use a mirror on the ceiling to reflect the image to the table. Many projectors have a setting to reverse the image so that after reflection it is correctly oriented, and...

    WOTC prepainted suggestion: Dungeon SCENERY!

For outdoor terrain, look at model railroad stuff. You can get a huge variety of trees and rocks and such (and molds to make your own plaster rocks), the scale isn't far enough off to make things like rocks and trees look out of place. Woodland Scenics is the brand I've seen most often.

What Do You Do to Support Your FLGS?

I try to spend my money at the FLGS when I can (sometime it is a matter of going online or not getting something though). I've thought about running games at the store, but between working full time, an hour commute each way to work, a wife, 3 kids, a lawn to mow, and everything else life throws...
