Pathfinder 1E Interview With Pathfinder Editor-In-Chief James Jacobs

Thanks for the elaboration James. The Book of Nine Swords got a quick skim by me and I decided not to purchase it and immediately banned it at my table so as to preclude others in my group wasting their money on it and then be unable to use it. It remains the only universally banned 3.5E book in...

    About Reveille

Having now read the rest of the thread, I am now much less concerned - this seems to fit a pattern of long premeditated manipulation - not a sudden cry for attention.

    About Reveille

Having now read the entire thread, I am no longer so concerned about his possible suicidal feelings. It is now clear that this was not some isolated grab at attention, but it fits a pattern of activity with his alternate accounts in the Hive and deception there.

    About Reveille

I am not sure whether my opinion on this makes any difference or not, but I would strongly urge you to do nothing about this. Sure, find his IP and ban it permanently, but no new policy can realistically protect the community. The only thing you can achieve is to inconvenience normal posters...

    About Reveille

I only got to this point of the thread as of now, so perhaps this has been answered already, but let me just ask this: I understand that you won't engage in a 'telephone game', but I am actually rather worried about Reveille. Doing something like this may indicate a desperate cry for attention...

Pathfinder 1E Interview With Pathfinder Editor-In-Chief James Jacobs

I am definitely looking forward to it. Will you post the link in this thread?

Eadric et. al. (The Paladin and his Friends).

It does seem to be on the trendline. In the longer term it could be pushed even further - who knows, the campaign could even end with the unification of all perspectives into a grand perspective with some internal contradictions but within the same frame. Think about it - Oronthonian...

    Great interview - thanks a bunch - I appreciate it! :)

    Aeon (updated 10/9/14)

Mostin is playing a dangerous game that may well catch up with him and the rest of the heroes. I would imagine that Sonneillon in particular will want her revenge.

    WoTC Interview with Rob Heinsoo

I am not sure it will generate so much debate simply because I didn't see anything particularly new about 4E's design philosophy in the article. All of those things have been mentioned countless times already - some people think these were good design decisions and others (myself included) think...

This is possible, but most people, myself included, have assumed so far that names of the fiends represent their alignment - hence Lee, with the yellow text, would be Lawful Evil.

    Aeon (updated 10/9/14)

I don't think it was shorter. I do agree, however, that it was awesome! :)

    RE: Reveille

That's great news! :) Hopefully, more good news will follow and he will wake up from his coma.

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder: Encounter Design Simplified

Thanks Wulf! Yes, for some reason I missed the fact that the 1/3 feat progression and the 1/4 ability score progression were bundled with the hit dice - I guess it was because everything else was separated, so I carelessly assumed these would be too. In any case, that does explain the linearity...

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder: Encounter Design Simplified

Hello Wulf, I downloaded the Traiblazer preview PDF and it is interesting. The most interesting part for me is the breakdown of levels into various features (BAB, iterative attacks, HD, skill points feats, class features, spellcasting and so on) and the costs associated with each feature per...

    Why Calculated XP is Important

Yes, you are correct when speaking about the pre-3E days (though already then I was learning to ignore the XP rules). Thanks for reminding me that it was even worse before! :erm:

    Why Calculated XP is Important

I don't award individual XP or any XP at all for that matter. I simply tell my players that they level whenever I think it is appropriate. I find that this works very well for my group for several reasons: 1) It saves me a lot of time and annoyance having to calculate CRs, ELs and XP awards...

    Why Calculated XP is Important

I am one of those DMs who just tells the PCs when they level instead of awarding XP. I have been doing this for years and I also level all the PCs simultanously, so that the group is at the same level. It has worked well for my group and I feel no incentive to go back to the XP system...
