Level Up (A5E) Spells: Winners and Losers

fair points, thanks! Agree re concentration and every round saves - I'm nowhere near as detail-oriented as you clearly are, but from memory that is not a normal thing in o5e, right?

Level Up (A5E) Sorcerer Class abilities - unclear wording

I mean then you'd just leave it as a fireball...

Level Up (A5E) Spells: Winners and Losers

It does, under the 'specific beats general' rule. EDIT: I think the issue is a lot of us are wondering why it does, beyond 'because it says it does', given what you noted.

Level Up (A5E) Spells: Winners and Losers

Thanks for kicking this off! I feel like you should have included fireball in this list though - I gather it was already nerfed in the playtest, but lots of us here now weren't part of that. Counterspell (now only auto-stops up to 2nd level spells) and Goodberry (no longer provides food; 2d4...

Level Up (A5E) List of O5E spells that have been changed in some way?

Sounds like a community project! We could set up a google doc and divvy up the spells by alphabet?

Official News LINK FOR BUG REPORTS

There are a few cases of regenerate (the spell) not being italicised, eg. across both AG and TT, Appendix A, under explanations of the Doomed condition

Level Up (A5E) Rangers, strangers, dangers...The good, the bad and the ugly of LU5E's rangers.

The expansion and re-centralisation of the exploration pillar is fundamental to the design of a5e though.

Level Up (A5E) What are "Subtle Changes" in LU?

And you don’t actually get the archery fighting style - you don’t get any fighting styles in fact, short of multi classing.

Level Up (A5E) What are "Subtle Changes" in LU?

Two for me: glaives are not heavy, and quarterstaffs are not versatile. (I'm sure there are other little changes in the weapons, those two just came up in a thread about adepts).

Level Up (A5E) So much seems wrong with Press The Attack and Fall Back

Hey Morrus, will that be true for all enemies in zones, or a "doesn't provoke oppos from the creature pressing the attack specifically?

Level Up (A5E) Actions in Combat

I am really looking forward to trying this out soon. And it feels like something that is fully modular - we could just drop this in to an existing o5e game. Might suggest it to my Friday night DM who loves this sort of thing. edit: we don’t have a barb, so it won’t step on any toes.

Level Up (A5E) Magnificent Mansion: No Haven or Supply

I'm not clear on how making MM (a 7th level spell) a haven makes the journey rules 'disappear', to be honest. If the concern is that it's free after buying the initial component, you could have just made the components be consumed, as you have with tiny hut (I presume as a deliberate stop to...

Level Up (A5E) Magnificent Mansion: No Haven or Supply

Agree with this. How is a Tiny Hut a haven when monsters can walk right in? I don't understand.

Level Up (A5E) Magnificent Mansion: No Haven or Supply

Oh wow I missed that Tiny Hut costs 200gp a pop! You guys really hated that spell, huh.

Level Up (A5E) My first impression

Not at all a proper list but fireball, banishment, tiny hut, counterspell, goodberry and animate objects are among those to be nerfed fixed.

Level Up (A5E) So much seems wrong with Press The Attack and Fall Back

Dude, that's not just wrong (they had an enormous amount of playtesting), it's rude. Again, I'd like to encourage you to be less declarative - especially about things you haven't even tried at the table yet. As the AG book itself suggests, try 'I' statements; You could also acknowledge that...
