    Something I could do without...

    A) That's a character goal, not a concept. B) Never said all wizards took the Oath--there are wizards in the uncivilized races and you can always ask Vecna for power, or take up Pact magic or sell your soul or something. Along with a whole Thay-like nation of evil wizards and the nation of...

    101 Wizard's Towers

I think it would be more interesting if the mimics took the wizard hostage and he calls for help from the PCs to do something and his nervous behavoir and attempts to get the PCs alone or contact them without the mimics knowledge.

    When Adventure Designers Cheat

I think you might be confused. Or maybe you were agreeing with me? I'm lost here. The adventure I was talking about is not a "good" D&D adventure. It negates the PCs abilities and requires the players to think through a mystery. Thinking isn't a bad thing, I love to see it. But I think the...

    Something I could do without...

"Invented"? They are already there in my 1e book, on the Ethereal plane if the PCs went there and tried to skip to the end.

    Something I could do without...

In my campaign world, all arcane spellcasting is controlled by The Guild. The Guild is a guild of wizards covering the main civilized continent of the world. There are regional subsections to the guild, but all of the guilds are friendly with each other and have the same standards. All...

    The Beatdown Radar

This assumes churches are in subordinate positions to governments--unlikely. Faith McCandles? That sounds like a cheap fake I.D. "Faith McCandles, George Valtrex, Zeke Zoloft, welcome to the Twisted :):):):):)."

What's the lamest monster you've seen made cool, and how?

Alchemical breathing apparatus. Alchemical "Leyden jars" that deal lightning damage.

What's the lamest monster you've seen made cool, and how?

Yeah, both the movie and the module don't use the scenario the best it could.

"You're having a nightmare. Go back to sleep." Awesome!

What's the lamest monster you've seen made cool, and how?

You might like this then. A (very stupid) bugbear got hold of a wish and wished for all elves to die...so the normal elves that were left (not shadar-kai, drow, etc.) instantly turned into the straight undead I mentioned, which then caused all kinds of havoc and publicizing bugbears bugbears as...

    The Beatdown Radar

If you'll note the hit dice to strength ratios in Detect Evil, clerics, undead, and elementals that are evil are going to be much stronger than evil non-Clr/undead/elementals. Personally, I find detect magic to be pretty annoying. Detect magic! Where's the loot, where's the magic traps. Maybe...

Does 3E/3.5 dictate a certain style of play?

With the "scourge of evil" attitude, I think you mean "that's the person playing the Fighter."

What's the lamest monster you've seen made cool, and how?

Ah! Awesome! Another variant product of the Elfpocalypse in my campaign. Some became the Seelie/Unseelie, some those shadow-fey, some straight undead...and now, CE necromancers with ultrafast lifespans and a penchant for necromancy and undeath.

What's the lamest monster you've seen made cool, and how?

I love the Basidirond's hallucination effects. I mean, what other monsters make your PCs hallucinate? None I can remember! Which reminds me, I need to use them before my PCs are out of their level range. Hmmmm. Wood Element Basidironds or Earth Element Basidironds? Or multiple basics...

Does 3E/3.5 dictate a certain style of play?

Of course, with 19 HD, he would have three times this many feats (10) in full 3e...Improved Critical, Dodge/Mobility/Spring Attack/Combat Expertise/Whirlwind Attack sounds very nasty...not to mention anything from PHBII or CW.

Does 3E/3.5 dictate a certain style of play?

A barrel of flaming oil, how quaint! Use one wizard to Fabricate a large glass kettle-shape while another is Major Creating a large amount of oil inside the kettle...TK that at the ice giants. Where's Snurre's bag of rocks...or, since he's civilized, bags of slag chunks or lead eggs?

Does 3E/3.5 dictate a certain style of play?

There was a thread that compared Keep on the Borderlands with Sunless Citadel and Forge of Fury. The Keep was ridiculously packed with magic items. Lots of magic weapons and armor, but then, these could easily be destroyed. The 3e modules had fewer, more powerful items, which are harder to...
