    DMs Guild Roundup: December/January

For the record, WotC has not enabled Dark Sun as a dmsguild setting. But you already can sell art on the guild! There's limitations fo =r maps if they recreate an official one (eg as in adventure). What I know some people want is fiction/novels.

D&D General What Kind Of Setting Does Your Group Use?

Eberron all day every day if I'm running D&D. But I'm playing in a homebrew game, and of course lots of other settings for other TTRPGs.

Official News Look At Our 'Level Up' Cover Art!

Other than outside marketing it definitely matters... although there's a question of what the curve of "mattering" is. There's lots of products that basically don't have a cover, so having any cover is a good edge... but then how do you grade from there?

D&D 5E (2014) Keith Baker announces Frontiers of Eberron: Threshold

Yeah apparently Keith decided the more traditional Western trappings meant Threshold would work better than Deepwater.

D&D 5E (2014) Keith Baker announces Frontiers of Eberron: Threshold

@Morrus I know you like Eberron but I'm not sure if this qualifies as "sufficiently newsworthy". Edit: Preemptively resharing the link before Morrus edits it out If you want an easier way to look through Keith's blog, I've been maintaining an article index on the Eberron wiki.

    D&D 5E (2014) Dragon+ issue 35

Yeah I'm inclined to agree with the sentiment that these Dragon+ mags aren't worth flipping open, I checked it out because a friend of mine got into the interview section but there's not even decent developer interviews

    D&D 5E (2014) TCoE - Rogue's Steady Aim

Here's what people are missing out on. Rogues are semi-notorious for having one of the biggest gaps between subclass features, namely because level 5 is Uncanny Dodge, level 6 is Expertise part 2, and level 7 is evasion (4 and 8 are ASIs, 3 and 9 are subclass features). It also pushes a lot of...

D&D 5E (2014) Getting rid of bad skill proficiencies

So, one thing I'll say about socials is I think game devs are in a rut by always relying on Diplomancy, Scarymancy, and Liemancy. Rather, I think a better distribution would be based on Ethos, Pathos, and Logos - the three classic methods of persuasion, because at the end of the day that's what...

    D&D 5E (2014) Fantasy Grounds Previews of Tasha's Cauldron

They're basically super stripped down fighter/rogue/spellcaster that you can use for NPC allies, like 3.5 NPC classes - one example is an animal friend can get the fighter-equivalent levels to keep up with the party. What they've done is taken the starter set sidekicks, expanded them to a full...
