    Yeenoghu

Someone at WotC likes gnolls, I'm sure. They became more interesting and important in 3e already, and the 4e developments look very good to me. Considering that Yeenoghu was one of the demon princes in 1e MM, along with Juiblex, Demogorgon and Orcus, it's a bit surprising that he was so...

Players really want the Necromancer? (Forked: Non-published concepts you want)

I think the completist angle is an important one; possibly the most important.

    Gnomes: Monster or PC (Poll)

I'm not a gnomophile, so if they never appear as a PC race, I'm not troubled at all. (This won't be the case, of course; Eberron features gnomes prominently, so they'll show up then.) In the meanwhile, if I ever play with someone who for some reason wants to play a gnome, the MM is there for them.

    Eladrin Cities...

On the subject of how Fey Step works, I don't think it's stated that they pass into the Feywild (or into normal world, if using it in Feywild). Personally, I think it's "pushing" against the planar border, not a crossing. An analogue: humans and other races are bound to ground (the world), and...

Does anyone actually like Dragonborn and Tieflings?

Dunno about the WotC boards, but the DB breasts do not appear to be an issue on RPG.net. To be honest, I'm kind of disappointed in the whole nerdrage over this issue, complete with meticulous appeals to science to show that one's opinion is objectively supported by the facts. I expect better...

Does anyone actually like Dragonborn and Tieflings?

If you're serious about this (I really, really weren't), I'm speechless.

    The tragedy of 4th edition.

And the teleportation is both short-ranged and needs a line-of-sight (something which the people decrying Fey Step seem to forget or ignore all the time). I can see Eladrin using a lot of curtains to divide the interiors of their buildings, or to block outside windows, so as to keep people from...

Does anyone actually like Dragonborn and Tieflings?

The obvious explanation is that people have wrong opinions, such as liking DBs or tieflings. ;)

    The tragedy of 4th edition.

The WotC people have been saying that they goofed on that, and that the final result doesn't deliver what they intended. To argue that this means that the rest of 4e is broken is, to take it mildly, premature and excessive.

Racially diverse artwork in D&D...does it influence you?

If I'm not mistaken, the "modern" racism and emphasis on skin color etc. started only with the Age of Exploration, and the colonialism that followed.

Does anyone actually like Dragonborn and Tieflings?

Sorry to borrow Hong's shtick, but you are thinking way too much about fantasy. Ahem. The definition of "mammal" is that they nurse their young with milk, as the name implies. Monotremes, which lay eggs, are a subcategory of mammals. Or you might accept that they're fantasy humanoids that do...

    Why'd they change the Lamia?

I've got no problem with the use of name "Lamia" for the 4e critter; IIRC, in Greek folklore and mythology, lamias (as opposed to Lamia) are sort-of vampiric, sort-of witchy, human-eating monsters which sometimes pose as women and marry careless men. Sounds good enough a fit to me.

    Why can't wizards heal?

    Why?

Does anyone actually like Dragonborn and Tieflings?

I like both dragonborn and tieflings; they're mechanically solid races that also open up interesting character backgrounds and themes. It's about time we get some non-Tolkien races in the PHB!

Is D&D 4E too "far out" to expand the market easily?

He's talking about Torog, the evil God of the Underdark; it's mentioned in the fluff that he's worshipped by jailers, for example. IMO, he's (again) reaching for something about 4e to dislike, and succeeding admirably. Nobody's easier to please than someone who wants to be displeased... Edit...

    Thiefling names

Funny. I've seen a ton of tieflings played (with or without LA), and no aasimar, ever. Maybe I game with people who didn't care about "builds" and were more interested in characterization? (Snark snark snark.)

    Thiefling names

They aren't, but the idea that tieflings are gothy, or in the game to pander to the emos/goths/whatever has become entrenched in the user base of this forum. In my opinion, it's a complaint only slightly more valid than the cries about MMOs and anime. IIRC, tieflings were the most popular...

Worldbuilding, nonhumans, and the inaccurarcy of Earth parallels

Nothing wrong with Earth parallels by themselves, no. But there's a long and annoying history in fantasy gaming of trying to make "Totally faithful late-14th-century Medieval Europe, except with monsters, multiple sapient races, magic and polytheism!". (Or the way TSR kept cramming real-world...
