is there a spell that gives obscure information about a place/past/future/event? i want to give my player obscure information about something through visions or something like that. he won't cast it on himself, he is going to have these visions from time to time

i don't know any but if your problem is that you are running out of spell slots early then consider the reserve feats from complete mage (acidic splatter, fiery burst).

how much does it cost in gold pieces to travel by ship? i can't find any info about that in the srd. the journey is about 40 miles? is 10 gp a good price?

i believe that the ring of force shield provides the wearer with a shield bonus to ac even though it says it generates a shield-sized wall of force still the bonus it provides is a shiled bonus, not, say a "force" bonus. since it is a shield bonus it can be combined with divine shield.

thanks for the reply. i was thinking of something like a ceremony and i am trying to come up with a "sacred chant", the guy has already killed someone just to join the assassins.

i am dming a solo campaing and my player is going to join the assassins. can anyone provide me with a link or come up with an idea of a ritual, a chant and vows to make the initiation more fancy?:P
