    D&D To Introduce Loot Boxes

I found a website with affordable minis.

What are the ability *scores* used for in 5e?

Some monsters drain ability scores. Shadows and maybe gibbering mouthers iirc. In the case of shadows the character dies if their strength reaches zero. So in my mind it acts as a separate damage track.

Anyone else tired of the miserly begrudging Rogue design of 5E?

Oh, I think I see now. You cleared up the conditional misconceptions that I had. Well, if you want the non-system-mastery rogue to keep up better damage-wise with the hardcore brawlers that is simple and elegant enough to do the trick. Or/and you could try something akin to the...

    The Derp Snake

I would figure the poisoned condition plus a penalty to passive perception.

Thanks I will look into that. You wouldn't happen to know that page number would you?

    Bashing bags of hitpoints

Pehaps even if they do. Lots of potential for ambushes, flanking and focus fire. I strugle to remember the last time a fireball took out more than 5 enemies.

Survivor Subclasses (Gish Edition)- IT IS OVER!

To be honest the Eldritch knight and valor or blade bard come closest in my mind to ideal gish. They still don't quite get it.

What are the ability *scores* used for in 5e?

They are a placeholder for half point bonuses and alternate HPs. Beyond that they are useless. IMO they are useless including those corner cases.

    D&D 5E (2014) The Case for Inspiration

I like the OP's idea. I don't think I will use it though. Inspiration is a bad fit for my group.

    Bashing bags of hitpoints

Only if they are regarded as a solo monster. If you took the same number of hit points and created a band of regular goblins that you sent after the party they would probably end up in the stew pot.

Anyone else tired of the miserly begrudging Rogue design of 5E?

I don't think that was a strawman. Damage equal to 1d6 per level plus weapon damage with no conditional requirements is what I gathered from your post. I think that is pretty clearly going to add up to outshining all other classes in single target damage. When I think of other classes they...

Anyone else tired of the miserly begrudging Rogue design of 5E?

I disagree but lets roll with this anyway. You want what exactly? A class that is dex based, outshines all other classes in the single target damage category and is called Rogue. This single taget damage must be "on call" and deployable at any time during contact and/or combat. They can...

    Armor as temporary hit points

I too have considered this. In my version it had a bigger impact than level (not a D&D houserule but a game built from the ground up). The thing that I never did manage to reconcile was how do they get the hp back? Take off the armor and put it back on? That seems dumb to me. Resting? End of the...

All this talk of fey ancestry and upbringing leads me to believe that human is not the right fit for Lancelot. Fighter; Battlemaster. Race?
