There's got to be more than just this. What about a great weapon fighting fighter/barbarian who uses reckless attack to gain advantage on every -5/+10 attack?

Why add 2 levels of Fighter and sacrifice 9th level spells on the sorcerer/warlock? The sorcerer adds CON saves and you'd hope to not use your weapons or armor too often. And this is all hypothetical.

The description says this item give a bonus of +1 to spell attack rolls. Does this apply to any spell attack rolls, including ones of different classes? Or is it only Sorcerer/Wizard? Forgive me, I don't have access to my DMG ATM.

I play in both kinds of games. Both have their merits, and while I prefer home games, there's no reason you can not role play a character with optimized stats. Besides, you can meet lots of people at organized games and sometimes they end up in your home games.

Thanks. And while I may one day make Minsc for 5e, he will have minimum WIS, and will probably mix in Barbarian levels. I always liked him with greatswords, and can't imagine him being a Battle Master, Champion fits our lovable "Ranger" much better. :D

Yup! Specific, how? Is there a section that has a focus on monks? Obsidian Portal is a bit tough to navigate on a phone, which is unfortunately my only option unless I go to a library.

I'm a huge fan of anything with a polearm. Fighter (any archetype), Paladin, Barbarian. I like the idea of a Blade-lock for this, but haven't done it yet. Human, Half Elf, and Half Orc in 5e for this. I've never liked the Elf race for a PC. Ever.

I do this, but it's because I think taking the first level as a Fighter is so important to a Blade-lock. :/

I like the EK as a single classed character. I'm also more of a fan of spells that don't need my INT modifier though. Shield, Mirror Image, Haste, ect.. It's a great class. Much more of a Fighter with a few spells to help out than your traditional Fighter/Mage from earlier editions.
