Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

There’s a difference between good faith exploration of something that didn’t work for you and trying to understand what other people liked about it and “all things of x genre are terrible and I don’t need to actually try any of them to know that and you have bad taste for liking it.” To be...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Folks who come into a thread praising a thing just to say they personally don’t like it are the same yum-yuckers who want to criticize your pizza toppings. I would say I don’t understand but I used to be that insecure too. 😜🙃

You should read (or listen) to Dungeon Crawler Carl

I was unconvinced when I started Dungeon Crawler Carl on audio book as a whim. But I am on book 2 now and really enjoying it. I have a feeling I would not enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy the narration. It is a great listen when I am painting minis or crafting terrain. As for the game...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I read the rest of the posts on the page where I left off and have now jumped to here with opinions. Carry on, my wayward sons.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I like Sonic. I think both In and Out and Shake Shake are inferior to 5 Guys.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Hype or no hype, I watch/read/listen to things at my own pace. Other people’s opinions rarely come into it positively or negatively.

Gonna be away from the boards for the next 4 days. How many more pages will that thread have?

D&D General My experience with popular D&D session summarizer tools

One of my groups plays over Zoom and its tools do a decent job of summarizing but there is a delay in processing the meeting into a summary and I usually have to fix it’s treating players and characters as separate people and a few other things it consistently gets wrong (like monster names).

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I love 5 Guys. There is a smash burger clone nearby here in Pittsburgh called Moonlit Burger that is pretty friggin’ good. Back when they were around NYC, I was all about Umami Burger.

D&D 5E (2024) New Campaign: game day setup

Cool set up. I might suggest setting up on the long side of the table for easy access for you with a player at each end and two across from you (assuming you have 4)

    Shadowdark Shadowdark General Thread [+]

Yeah, that’s not advice i can imagine ever taking as I don’t see that as remotely “overthinking” or a concept I personally find to have much value. Edit to add: But I found a way that makes sense in my head, and ultimately that is all I need.

    Shadowdark Shadowdark General Thread [+]

Hmm. Yeah, I see now. Maybe a fail means a reckless flight from combat and on a success you might have them choose to flee anyway, but it'd be more of a strategic retreat.

    Shadowdark Shadowdark General Thread [+]

I hope this is okay to ask in this thread, since it is a small question and I don't want to start a new thread just for it, but I was looking at the morale rules and it struck me as odd that failing a Wisdom check is what makes monsters flee. I would think that failing would make a monster do...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

TFW when you check your settings because all of a sudden you are only seeing 2 posts per page on a thread, but then you realize that it only appears that way because you literally have everyone else posting in that thread on ignore.

D&D 5E (2014) Character Creation- How to Apply Auction Techniques

When the topic of stat drafts come up, there is inevitably one or more people who object on principle and can only think of it as competitive, but while it can certainly be played that way, I have never run a stat draft that was not cooperative to some degree and where everyone didnt get stats...

D&D General How Was Your Last Session?

That sounds like an amazing adventure/encounter! And it also make me think, perhaps too obviously, of one of my favorite poems (by anonymous): Westron wynde when wyll thow blow the smalle rayne downe can Rayne Cryst yf my love were in my Armys And I yn my bed Agayne Or transcribed into...

D&D General Your last adventure in photos.

Scenes from last Friday's session and here is a link to a Instagram reel of my setting up the table before the game started: HOW I RUN IT on Instagram: "We left off our previous in-person session mid-encounter. Traveling overland from the Penzig Villages to Hommlet-at-Hookhill the Prophecized...
