YRC! (You recall correctly) ;) They're at least very similar to linnorms. But before that, there were some linnorms in 3e's MM2. And for the record: Yes, I think linnorms are cool, but have not yet used them. I probably will in my next campaign though, which will have a viking-theme.

How many of the regulars in here have actually taken the time to read the rules for these boards? It seems to me that the tone of these boards have changed quite a bit the last few years. There used to be a lot more respect for our beloved grandmothers, IMHO. :\ How do you other long-timers...

Any of those skills could be useful and make sense for certain fighters to have, but what every fighter needs is some knowledge of first aid; i.e. the Heal skill. Also, Profession should be a class skill for all classes; except perhaps the barbarian.

You're right, I forgot. There are a few tiny, scattered glaciers, out close to the ocean, furthest from the volcanoes. There's a big difference between hot water and molted rock! Even if they're related phenomenae.

Ice within meters of a lava flow is not possible. Not for long anyway. ;) I agree the statement, viewed isolated, does not prevent there being a hefty layer of bedrock between them. If you read the rest of that post though, you'll see that the it was made to show how frostgiant and firegiant...

Iceland - Doesn't have a single glacier; due to all the volcanic activity Mt. ST. Helens - Was covered with snow before it erupted... Your other examples are just hot springs, not volcanoes.
