    Threads that go Klunk!

I must say, we're in debt to Reaper for calling it a "Super-dimensional dork fortress" :)

    What is HackMaster???

Er, you know that Kenzer makes Kalamar, the only official third party Dungeons and Dragons setting, right?

The term "Crunchy" and Dragon - where do we go from here?

What I would dearly, dearly love Dragon to become is a sort of synthesis. A combination of Dragon and Polyhedron that would slowly transform into the penultimate d20 magazine. Full-on product reviews, a more open written work policy, less tie-in to the WotC product-of-the-month. In short, it'd...

Another Dragon #300 thread - kill the tie-ins

Which is highlighted if you're one of those who got the anniversary compilation CDs before they were yanked due to the copyright woes. Mindblowingly good stuff in some issues, and not really much that can compare to it now.

Todd Lockwood Laid Off By WOTC! (thread necromancy)

Very few games studios have actual staff artists. TSR/WotC seems to almost always be the only one. I know White Wolf uses a lot of freelance art, and it seems that WotC is just headed in that direction.

Occult Killings and Tarot Cards ...

Omens are a big part of Ravenloft. Given that tarot is used for divination, imagine the sort of revelation that would be gleaned by a divination powered by twenty-two human souls? That's the sort of giant ritual someone like Azalin could go for. Considering that one Darklord is already iconic...

Occult Killings and Tarot Cards ...

The more I think about it, the more I believe it'd be better to make the killings themselves symbolic, and make the players try to discern why they're positioned like they are. A man hung by his foot would be the hanged man, another would be found with a lantern in his hand and be the hermit...

Occult Killings and Tarot Cards ...

Personally, I'd go with killings that fit the arcana, rather than having tattoos. The poses and arrangements on the cards have heavy significance, and it would give the players more to figure out if they had to examine the crime scene and figure out that so-and-so represented the Empress or...

    Biggest dungeon?

If you want the most massive infusion of maps you could get your grubby paws on, see if any of the local software outlets or hobby shops have the FR atlas.

2nd Edition Weapon Speeds - Anyone Else Miss Them?

How messed up is it that you can find a game mechanic offensive?

What can you legally use from WOTC?

Er, there have been third party d20 supplements using orcs and all the other Monster Manual creatures for about two years now. Am I to assume he's missed all of them?

What can you legally use from WOTC?

They're part of the gentleman's agreement, which you'd know if you'd, say, seen any third party d20 product with monsters in it. The gentleman's agreement means that even if they're not released, they're part of the SRD, so you can use them so long as you revise your product if anything changes...

What can you legally use from WOTC?

Re: wtf Er, no. You are horribly, horribly mistaken. Read the SRD. Love it. Live it.

Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil. Rappan Athuk The Banewarrens The Maze of Zayene Any of these would do you good, really.

2nd Edition Weapon Speeds - Anyone Else Miss Them?

The Everquest method bears promise, and is distributed in enough variety across their weapons that it'd be easy to swipe.

What can you legally use from WOTC?

Do you understand the words that are coming out of our mouth? Is it in the SRD? If so, then yes. If not, then no. In the case of Bluff, Disable Device, and Climb, they're in the SRD.

    Templates and OGC

Re: Re: Templates and OGC Ah, but assume you named the monster "The Troll God's Chosen", and didn't disclose that the method by which the stats were derived was adding the Paragon template to a troll. I don't think they can actually zap you for the method by which the stats are derived, and...
