Eh. I don't hate it. However, I feel that whilst 5E is a good system, it's not great at anything either, but maybe that's where D&D should be anyway.

I never quite understood why FFG didn't just use one kind of custom dice set for the Star Wars games. It would cut down on the ridiculous amount of dice I (and others) have and create a nice basis for a unified system.

That's more what I was getting at. Yeah, the timing of Gary Con is the only sticking point for me too. It's right in the middle of my company's busiest part of the year. Doubt I could swing it.

Fortunately we will be driving in, so we'll be able to go to the center by car. We are definitely trying to minimize our potential issues that way. However, after I go to Gen Con as it's been 13 year old's dream to go, I think I'll go to Gary Con in the future as I'm a grognard by heart if not...

My collection is very small now. I've gotten rid of the books that just sit on my shelf never cracked even for inspiration. Mainly play Traveller and Pathfinder these days and for Pathfinder all I have physically is the core rulebook.

I'll be going as well. I'll be playing in several Pathfinder games as well as going to a ridiculous amount of seminars and workshops. I, too, would like to see Numenera in action. It's looks nice, but then again Star Wars: Edge of the Empire looked nice too and it just wasn't my game. Hope...

Science fantasy isn't really something that I would ever be inspired enough to run myself. However, one or two of the people I normally play with could probably do a decent job. I can see them picking up Numenera or Titansgrave, and I'd certainly give it a go. We've never been inspired to...

Whilst I agree there are quite a lot of books available for Pathfinder/3.5 for many that's the draw, the large amount of resources to draw from. If anyone feels that a rules set is what dictates whether the power is in the hands of the storyteller or not is clearly looking at it the wrong way...

I completely understand and agree with where Harry Dresden is coming from, however WotC is too afraid to put a lot of capital into waves and waves of publishing products like they did with 4E. No, I don't have any proof of this, but dealing with marketing in real life I feel like this is true...
