    D&D 5E (2014) Starter Set Excerpt 5

Agreed. Don't care for them, they just don't say "goblin" to me.

    D&D 5E (2014) Is Anyone Unhappy About Non-LG Paladins?

I thought Aragorn was the inspiration. “The hands of the king are the hands of a healer, and so shall the rightful king be known.” As for the non-LG Paladins, it has always been my opinion that it completely depends on the setting you are running. Thus if you do/don't want Evil Paladins the...

    D&D 5E (2014) I'm so excited (and I just can't hide it)

My feelings exactly! I'm still very annoyed (sad?) that they decided to release the core books over such a long period. Yes, it's not really THAT long, but I'm annoyed I have to wait until November to have all three core books. It just feels. . .off.

    Team Players

Build characters individually, but with some interaction between players This fits my regular group the closest, but we tend to NEVER pick the same classes and when a campaign is forming the first question we all ask the DM is "What's everyone else playing?". It's partly a synergy thing and...

    D&D 5E (2014) Armored Mages

I'm very happy about being able to make an armored wizard more easily. I certainly hope they don't do away with it, but I would be open to a variant rule that makes them unfeasible as well for groups and settings where it doesn't fit.

    Love for Hackmaster?

I think you're right. There are definitely no funny dice with strange symbols in Hackmaster. The funnel remark made me think of DCC as well.

    D&D 5E (2014) Eberron Musings

I agree, I think this type of approach would be less jarring than "Boom! Frostfell dwarves in the house!".

Why has WotC stopped posting on ENWorld?

Indeed. I think part of it was the transition and follow-up from 3.5 to 4th Edition. I think the toxicity got so bad because all across the internet, and even on these very forums there were elements that were saying that those who enjoyed 4th Edition were wrong and "weren't true D&D fans"...

    Love for Hackmaster?

Yes, I would definitely categorize Hackmaster as a crunchier system than a lot of other RPGs, so for those wanting a more rules-light game I can certainly see why Hackmaster doesn't appeal. I really enjoy the count-up mechanic and I think my group will love it once they get used to it.

    D&D 5E (2014) Eberron Musings

I could certainly see them making Dragonmarks as backgrounds, but I'd like to see them as feats due to them usually having some sort of power that is comparable to taking a feat.

    Love for Hackmaster?

I picked up the latest edition of Hackmaster in PDF form way back in October of last year and only recently got around to giving it a thorough look. I like what I'm seeing and the overall philosophy of the system ("True heroism comes from overcoming the odds and risking life and limb in a...

D&D 5E (2014) When did your Forgotten Realms depart from official continuity (for world-shaking events)?

If I ever ran Forgotten Realms again, which I doubt, I'd keep with the official continuity. I've never been too bothered by anything that's happened in the Realms, besides Tyr and Mystra dying.

D&D 5E (2014) Would you play in or run a 2 hour pick up game of D&D ?

If we already had characters ready to be used, I'd say yes. If we're talking having to create the characters and then play, I'd say no. That really goes for any system as my group just tends to take a good amount of time during the character creation process.

D&D 5E (2014) What D&D should learn from a Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones)

Of course, it doesn't really matter. Your entire post is correct. It's simply the irrational response I have to it sometimes.

D&D 5E (2014) What D&D should learn from a Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones)

I like the political intrigue. However, we already had that inspiration from the likes of the War of the Roses and "The Great Game" in the Wheel of Time Series. I'm such a hipster, but I'm annoyed by how popular GoT is because of the HBO show. I know it's petty and said, but it's true. My...

D&D 5E (2014) Things that probably won't happen, but man would it be cool if they did!

Primarily out of annoyance at WotC's utter focus on FR, especially as of late. I understand that FR is the flagship setting for D&D but they don't need to shove it down my throat. I actually really enjoy FR, or used to at any rate, however it has become very tiresome with so much focus on...

D&D 5E (2014) Things that probably won't happen, but man would it be cool if they did!

It isn't so much that it couldn't be put into FR, but rather that WotC is on such a FR kick and it would annoy me if they redid it to be in the FR rather than in Greyhawk. The above post about slapping a goose was to display my annoyance at such a possible outcome. This is coming from someone...

D&D 5E (2014) Couple of threads got me wondering... So what have you already Pre-ordered??

Should probably redo the thread for multiple choice and add an option for nothing yet.
