Just about all the classes are underpowered compared to the cleric and druid. This is a reflection of designer bias and lack of playtesting in 3.5.

I follow them really closely. If not the clerics and druids in my game would be taking on CRs +6 above their level easily instead of just +3.

The best ability of the Hierophant is the improved caster levels as it can be used to boost the Holy Word series of spells into the stratosphere and pretty much own epic level encounters of the appropriate CR.

It's worth giving up wizard levels for the class because you gain overpowered cleric spells and domains. It's not worth giving up cleric levels because your spell level decreases and your turning capacity decreases.

The lack of updates to the errata serves a cold business purpose. WoTC will not update the errata at all because they don't want people to see that the new and improved 3.5 has an errata list bigger than 3.0.

The D&D would be better if the rules were proof read and play tested for playability.
