Thay assaults Rashemen! (Updates from the game...)

I'd march away, but leave an illusory seige force behind. Or something cool like that. Maybe bind a few demons to harass the city and keep messengers away. Actually, just hire a whole bunch of demon mercs and portal them in from hell...

Connor's Sorta Low CR Monster Thread- To be updated... eventually...

Here you go! I had to fudge the numbers a little bit, as the Tauric Template works out a bit weirdly when applied to things that are humanoid in form, but not actually, ruleswise, humanoids. Gar. I think the CR might be a little off, and I'm not sure I did the claw attacks correctly. Stupid...

I take requests if they seem interesting or fun to me. Yours is both. Hmmm..... Ok, I think I got something in mind... EDIT: What CR do you want it? EDIT AGAIN: Ok... My idea so far is a Three-Headed Tauric Nothic-Brown Bear. Imagine a big bear, only replace its head with the misshapen torso...

Connor's Sorta Low CR Monster Thread- To be updated... eventually...

So I'm about to run this adventure called "The Stink." It was in Dungeon... I think 93. Anyway, it basically involves on portion of a city, a slum that got so foul it was walled off and turned into a giant dumping grounds aptly named "The Stink." The adventure, unfortunatly, does not give much...

    Miyazaki's Spirited Away

All right, you might find one negative word- the blood was a little freaky. The negative word being freaky. But... I just watched that movie and its sooooooooo good. I liked princess mononoke a little better, mostly because Spirited Away seems like a kids story, whereas Princess Mononoke seems a...

    The "non cliche" DnD thread

Whoa... we must be on the same wavelength. One of my recent NPCs was a kobold chef, trained in Orc-ruled France. So not only can he make good meals, he's got a musket in the kitchen in case he has to beat down intruders. Which he does, a lot.

How does one change user names?

Oh! Oh! I have a related question. Can you merge usernames? Like, can you take two usernames, and merge thier posttotals into one? Like, if someone made a new username but wanted all the posts he made with his last one to still be editable, can you "transfer responsibility" of those posts (and...

    Customizing D&D Minis

I did the same thing to my Kobold skirmisher that I do to all my kobold minis that have crossbows- cut off the bow part and make them into shotguns. For the Kobold Skirmisher, this didnt even require any repainting, as the base plastic used for the mini is the same color black as the crossbow...

Rules of Dungeoncraft! What are they!?

Ok, lets see... 1. Never force yourself to create more than you must. 2. Whenever you fill in a major piece of the campain world, devise at least one secret related to that piece. 3. Whenever you must decide the chance of something happeneing and you have no idea how to figure it out, its...

Rules of Dungeoncraft! What are they!?

In the world-building issue, the "countrycraft" big article sums them all up. It starts on page 40.

Sharpies and the Art of Basepainting

Ok, I'll post pictures soon, but here's the deal. I have a bunch of the DND minis, and they look pretty good. I use them in my DND game, not for the minis game itself, and I'm not really a big collector, so I don't mind altering them. Anyway, I have 3 men at arms, and I always confused my...

    The "non cliche" DnD thread

The PCs in my game are pretty a-typical. Two elven rogues that dont like nature and are totally w/o morals, an Orc rogue/fighter who swashbuckles and steals with abandon, a kobold cleric who worships a giant beetle god, and a female dwarven fighter...

    Exploration and excitement

I'm about to run my PCs throught the adventure "The Stink." Its basically a dungeon bellow a condemned, befouled part of a city. In the article, it spends about three paragraphs on exploring the stink (not the dungeon), but I've done some work on my own, and thier travel to get to the dungeon...

    [Jan] What are you reading?

Man... that book can be summed up in one sentance. Elaine takes a 200 page bath. I stopped reading after Winter's Heart. Its like every book he covers less and less, and takes longer and longer to do it. Pretty soon it will be 700 pages describing rand.... slowly drawing a sword.... and having...
